  : A lovely quiet location. Good base for Scotland, lake District and Yorkshire dales but nothing on the doorstep. We know the lakes etc very well so we were just looking for relaxation. The kitchen is very well equipped for all your cooking needs, lots of pots and pans etc, a medium chopping knife would be great! Launa is a lovely lady, lovely to chat to and helpful. Husband not so much but then that's men I suppose Our presence didn't feel so welcome from him! Lovely field to let the dogs run but he doesn't like them off the lead near the property because of his chickens which is understandable but our dogs are brought up with chickens and ducks and would do them no harm! They have been roaming free with them since birth but this wasn't taken into account! Their dogs all roam free and this is what ours are also used to so a bit of a pain getting harness and leads on just to walk a few meters to the field! The lounge area is lovely and nice and relaxing, lots of books and leaflets for things to do. Rupert the dog is a joy to wake up to in the morning even if his presence at the door did make our dogs bark and wake us up! He's such a happy chap you couldn't be mad with him! 3 fantastic butchers shops in wigton! Amazing! The welcome basket was lovely and the supply of milk and bread so we didn't need to rush out straight away! The fresh flowers also a lovely touch and the homemade cake was a treat!
  : Not much to do in the local area, just swimming and we didn't take costumes and no where to buy them! Don't bother getting a Chinese! We got one for my birthday tea and gave it the dogs! It was AWFUL! The crispy duck was totally dried, rock hard and not chewable! They don't take card even though it's 2023 and they were pretty rude! AccommodationA decent chopping knife and a bit of a de cobweb and all would be lovely! Bedroom could do with a bit of modernization but cozy! Bed comfortable but too hard for me due to scars on my back I like something a bit softer but that's personal.New batteries in remote needed, maybe a few family games to play?

  : Spotlessly clean, a very pleasant & attentive host with a lovely welcome pack of essentials, including a smashing homemade cake. Great location for the Solway Coast & Northern Lakes We chose this to be close to our favourite restaurant Scran in Wigton, who champion local produce.. and will definitely stay again for our next Cumbrian trip.
  : Nothing to dislike at all.

  : Host was lovely and happy to share information about the area. Close location to the highest Wainwrights and a short 6 minute drive to the local supermarket/town
  : The weather could have been better. Only stayed for 6 nights.

  : Superb cottage, warm homely, comfortable with everything you would need. Fresh flowers, chocolates, wine etc brilliant. Very friendly hosts who baked for us! Great for Carlisle and the borders and also an unusual(for us) back door into the Lake District.
  : Only the weather and the hosts could not control that.
