  : Very tired room. The armchair, while comfortable, had the decorative piping falling off and looped round the arms. It should either have been cut off or properly stitched back in place. The shower room was tired and had mould in the shower. The toilet seat kept slipping. Single glazed windows which made the room cold. The heater wasn't efficient so a second one had been supplied, but it was still a cold room. The price had led to much higher expectations

  : Worst hotel I have ever seen. We arrived and were met by a young woman who was trying to light a coal fire. When she stopped to deal with us I said wait until you finish what you are doing. She replied I keep stopping for check ins. When we asked if we were ok to be parked in the street outside she said you get 2 hours when in fact having checked - at that time of day (17:00) you are able to park until 10:00 the next day. When we asked where we could park she responded while pointing generally - up there at our sister hotel - no directions at all were given. An older woman appeared and without any acknowledgement of us said to the younger woman - give them one of the front rooms. 2 minutes in and no friendly service whatsoever. We were then given general directions to our room.
  : The service as already described. The cost. 180 for a room which was filthy with basis amenities. The condition of the carpet on the stairs leading to the room was filthy and needs to upgraded immediately the fact that booking.com are selling rooms from this property is a joke. This is a company my wife and I use regularly and we usually find no fault. This was an overnight stay before getting a ferry to the Isle of Lewis the following day to an apartment that my wife booked via booking.com. Her review of this property was 10 out of 10. Excellent value and everything we wanted. Exactly what we expected. I am also disappointed with your response. I booked via booking.com and as a result believe that it is your responsibility to seek a refund from this establishment. As soon as we saw the room we left. We had to do this in a hurry as we managed to change our ferry to that day and had contacted the proprietor on the other side who agreed to take us 1 night early. I could only hand the room key to someone at the bar and tell them that we werent staying. I tried to cancel - your response Id they I should seek a refund by contacting the property direct. WHY?

  : Overwhelming smell of urine from the men toilets in the bar/restaurant. The property is delapitated needing urgent attention to the external facade, rotten wooden window sills that leak. Internal downstairs rooms & stairs require urgent refurbishment.
