: This cottage was lovely. Absolutely spotless, everything very high-quality such as the kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, bedding and towels. On top of this were the real welcoming touches, like a nice bottle of wine waiting for us, lots of local information and generously stocked kitchen essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar, etc. We stayed in the master bedroom which had a lovely comfy bed. The shower in the bathroom is one of the best Ive ever used.
: Everything was great. There are just two things to be aware of when booking. The cottage is a short drive from nearby Matlock. There is no garden to speak of for summer evenings.

: We loved the beds they were unbelievably comfortable. We also really appreciated that the fires were laid for us on arrival and the facility to use the log store (and honesty box) was amazing.

: Good communication from the agency, beds were comfy, bathroom and kitchen well fitted out and powerful shower.
: Road noise from A615 plus lorries from the two new housing estates was annoying, the listing said peaceful and quiet and it certainly wasnt. Parking on the street was a bit dicey due to the HGV's passing down the narrow road. This extra traffic isn't the fault of the owners I appreciate and it will end once the estates have been finished. I recieved an email asking why we had moved the bedding in the third bedroom. Basically they wanted to charge me extra for a third person. Found this rude when I have booked the entire property. Would not stay again.

: Lovely cosy cottage in a great location for accessing sights and walking in the Peak District. Communication was great with lots of recommendations for things to do. The property has recently changed hands but this didn't diminish our experience. Would definitely recommend as a base for exploring the area.
: As others have mentioned, the main living area is a little dark so another lamp would be good (you don't always want the big light on). If you make use of the log burner, you are asked to leave 8.50 in cash for replacement logs. We feel this shouldn't be an extra.
