  : We booked in June and paid BIG MONEY for this and was totally disappointed from the moment we arrived here, and we were delighted to leave it after 4 days of this exploitation to be honest !! This was a special occasion for us. Just shy of 1500 for 4 nights (room only). It just was not worth the money ! Our room (Room 5) in the main house had seen many better days. It was tired with a dirty beige carpet, and needed some restorative work on it right away. The bathroom needed redecorating as well. However, we did like the position of the hotel overlooking the sea and it must have been a lovely place in its day. Some of the staff were friendly and tried to be helpful. I understand from a few people that the hotel is currently up for sale which we were unaware of before we came and this may explain things ! During our stay in Skye we also visited a beautiful hotel charging similar accommodation prices to the Flodigarry with equally stunning views of the sea. Had a good chat with the head receptionist there who took the time to show us around the entire hotel which was really gorgeous. The rooms were very large and had picture windows overlooking Portree Harbour and the sea. Whilst there, we had a look at the menu in the restaurant and they were charging much less than the Flodigarry for food, and had more choice. We wanted to stay here ! It is a shame we didn't know about this place for my Birthday meal (see below).
  : The first night on arrival we had 2 steaks (albeit very nice) and a small salad starter. The cost of this was 146 for the two of us. Far too expensive ! Portions were small and we were hungry an hour later !Saying that we enjoyed other meals in other establishments at reasonable prices whilst visiting Skye which is a lovely place to explore as is the whole of Western Scotland. We had the best Fish and Chips we ever had on Skye in Portree but sadly had the worst Indian Meal we ever had also. That was on my Birthday !We had planned to have the Seafood Tasting Menu on my Birthday at the Flodigarry, but when we asked a hotel official about it he wasn't sure if they were doing that anymore. I did mention to him it was on the Flodigarry website.Later he said the chef will do it, the price went to 150 each. We felt this was way OTT.It felt like the Chef was doing us a favour when he agreed to do it for us !Our seaview room was not quite what we were expecting. We were shown into a room first by the Barman after waiting 10 minutes in reception where my partner went looking for someone to attend to us.We were then shown into (Room 3) in the main house but there was other people's luggage there !We were then shown into a side room (Room 5) with a side window overlooking a flat roof extension and we could see the sea in the top third of the window only if you craned your head to see it. The Barman did say he did mention to the owners they should put a balcony there.Food and drink were WAY OVER normal prices which are uncalled for !! They served basic food at MASSIVE inflatable prices and we were miles and and miles way from anywhere else to get other food at normal and acceptable prices. They have a captive audience here. We bought drinks at the bar and paid a slightly different amount for the same round again.We even showed the barman the receipt when we queried it and he just shrugged.Myself and my partner are angry and feel so let down !
