  : Great location from which to visit SW. A very old characterful building. Good selection of food and drink.
  : Not a major minus but parking a car in one of the public car parks 5-10 minutes away could create problems for the less mobile and if the weather had been bad. Fortunately neither applied to our stay.

  : The old building had bags of charm and character and positioned right in the heart of the town. The room was comfortable with a giant bed, en suite, wood panelling and a wide window overlooking the street. It wasn't at all noisy despite the position next to the main street.Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We had the avo and poached eggs and helped ourselves to pastries, which were excellent.
  : The room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned, as a left over lid from a complimentary shower gel bottle was tucked behind the sink. The en suite light was automatic which at 4am when I needed to answer the call of nature, was a little dazzling.

  : Really charming rooms, lovely staff, fabulous breakfast. Comfy bed.
  : Mind your head if you're over 6 feet tall! Dinner was delicious but service wasn't super-speedy... but we were a group of 11 in a side room so I think we may have overwhelmed them!

  : Lack of close parking. Had to drop bags then drive to local carpark and about a 7 minute walk in the rain. Hubbie on crutches so wasn't ideal. If I had known we would have stayed elsewhere probably.

  : The history and the character of the property was amazing. Very central. No parking on site but parking is down a lane opposite, just a short walk and its cheap. The rooms were modern and clean, very comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Water in the shower was hot.
  : Service was shocking. We arrived at 4. Greeted by a man who didnt smile or welcome us. Clearly very busy, managing the restaurant and the reception. He took us up to our room, I was walking behind him and he stunk of body odour. The TV in the room was tiny. We came back downstairs and he said hed send someone through to our table to serve us. Someone arrived and took our order after about 15 minutes. We had to get up twice to go and find our missing drinks/prompt for a refill. Food was delivered by the manager, just no interaction despite my best efforts. Later a lady was on reception and she was lovely, very friendly. Also another man who was keen to make sure we were being looked after. Such a shame as just that one experience put us off, the same thing happened at breakfast this morning. No welcome from the man in the white shirt, it was 10.00 and breakfast is served til 11 but he checked his watch when we asked for a table. No explanation about how breakfast worked. I asked for toast and he said I could make it myself and gestured off towards a toaster. Made my toast, very straightforward, no plates though so had to ask for some. We were sat near the kitchen and the kitchen staff were playing loud music and singing which was clashing with the music playing in the restaurant. The bell was rung for service but the manager was on reception so someone from the kitchen brought the food out and was met by the manager who explained to the kitchen person that he was on reception but he didnt apologise or explain to us. Toast was on the plate with the English breakfast and I didnt eat it because Id already had some. If Id known it was coming I wouldnt have made myself some. The food was superb. Really tasty sausage, great poached egg, amazing mushrooms.
