  : Breakfast was delicious! Loved an authentic English breakfast : ) I also loved that the room was super cosy and clean, tv and coffee/tea options... it felt very English countryside bed & breakfast, nothing fancy but it was fair in terms of what I paid.

  : spiders all over the room (11) massive hole in bathroom floor a small toddler would fit down it. shower unit leaks and doesn’t get hot enough.room smelt of damp not been dusted in a long time

  : The dogs got a sausage for breakfast.
  : When we arrived we were told that we would get £50 returned to us as the room was due for renovation, which had been delayed and told to come back in a couple of hours when the room would be ready. We booked to stay with 2 dogs and would find it difficult to find alternative accommodation at this stage, but weren't given the opportunity to see the room anyway. The room was on the third floor of the hotel, rather than in the courtyard as expected, but our expectations were quite low after reading reviews on trip advisor. The room had a chemical smell and there was a bag over the smoke alarm. The main problem was the mechanical noise in the bathroom that went off every 20-30 minutes during the night. It sounded like a pressure washer and meant we got very little sleep. I don't like giving bad reviews, but the promised £50 refund wasn't given. We spoke to the owner and he said booking.com would give it. We have waited and contacted them and OYO, but nothing. Ripon is lovely, just find somewhere else to stay.

  : The place needs decorating from top to bottom, if the above did not apply I would have walked away.
