  : Food was good. Staff were friendly. Hotel was warm.
  : My 'upgraded' room looked good on first inspection, but lots of little faults were disappointing. Wardrobe handles that came away in your hand when you tried to pull them open, soap dispensers that didn't, no rack for suitcase, bits of furniture that looked nice, but were surplus to requirements and non functional, worn bed base visible and a bit off-putting, the layout of the shower room made it near impossible to use the wash hand basin, the taps were loose and when showering, the brick wall of the shower room produced black 'dust' that didn't look right. The ceiling beams provided a nice effect, but on closer inspection looked like they'd been fitted by a blind joiner circa last week.The Hotel has all the right ingredients to be a successful and enjoyable place to stay, but whilst they have various plans for a swimming pool and other renovations ongoing, they really need to attend to the details in the little things that create guest impressions. I wish them well.

  : Quirkiness! Had a hot tub outside our cabin and lots of dog artefacts inside!
  : Lack of hot water in tiny wash hand basin in our cabin (we didn't mention it as only staying one night - boiled a kettle!) and nothing to wipe our feet on when we entered the cabin, which meant the floor got filthy.

  : In general the whole place needs upgrading, stains on soft furnishings in bedroom, bed too soft possibly an old mattress. Restaurant area looked shabby and unloved.Given previous reviews I feel this facility may have struggled over lockdown and are still struggling to bring themselves back up to standard.

  : Doors to the balcony were a bit thin so the wind was very loud coming through. This is a pub so had noise from downstairs until very late.
