  : The jockey club rooms is a beautiful, historic place and well worth treating yourself to if youre staying in Newmarket. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was delicious and in a lovely setting. There are lots of racing paintings and artefacts to look at. My bedroom was huge, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also fabulous and everything was clean and well kept.
  : I was a bit disappointed with the location of my room - Id chosen the jockey club because I thought the rooms were set back from the main high street which can be noisy, especially on weekend evenings. And Id also liked that the property was safely gated. However I was placed in the jockey club townhouse, rather than the main building. This meant my room was right on the high street and had a completely separate entrance to the rest of the club. As a solo female traveller, I didnt feel as safe as I would have done in the main building. I also had to wear ear plugs due to the noise of people and cars along the high street all night. Where you place solo travellers might be something for the staff to consider a bit more carefully when allocating bedrooms? But other than that I enjoyed a great stay!
