  : Spotless hotel with lovely food and friendly owners. We had a really pleasant evening on the patio chatting with local customers.
  : Although rooms look dated, they are spotless and very comfortable!

  : A surprisingly large hotel with an impressive leafy site right by a mighty river and elegant venerable bridge. The new owners are working hard and are exceptionally friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable, with an excellent shower and bed. The dining rooms are pleasant with good views. The bar is active as a local pub as well as for the hotel. The wifi in the guests' lounge works well. The hotel is easy to find, with plenty of parking. There are good breakfast options and food is cooked to a high standard. Kirkcudbright and Dumfries are both good places to visit.
  : The wifi in the bedrooms is weak. The new owners were, as of Sept 2023, struggling to find enough local staff, so evening food options were slightly limited, though there was enough choice for me. Local towns are small and don't have many shopping or eating options.

  : The family are lovely, warm, friendly and welcoming, everything was clean, comfortable and well presented. The location is excellent and theres huge potential for this hotel.
  : The hotel has only recently been taken on by the family, the previous owner hasnt maintained the property for a few years and so its a bit tired in a few areas but still well worth a stay and with the new owners its only going to improve.
