  : Pub a bit sterile in seating area. Manager very friendly and helpful. Food fine, room a bit squashed but comfortable beds. No breakfast but we had money taken off our bill in compensation
  : A cooked breakfast! Though we were compensated for this. Room was adequate but a little cramped eg no wardrobe / hanging space.

  : Lovely staff and good food,great place to stop off on the South Downs walk....sorry to hear there may be a change in management..hopefully it continues being a suitable stop of for people walking or cycling the beautiful South Downs

  : Great location, just over half a mile from the South Downs Way and directly across the road from the most fabulous little shop, ideal for grabbing supplies for the next day if youre on foot.I love the fact that The Blue Bell is community run. The food is excellent and both our evening meal and breakfast were perfect.
  : What let the booking down was the price (185 for a small twin room) and facilities. There was evident mould in the corners of the shower and in the grouting of the tiles. The shower didnt reach temperature and the hot water tap in the sink was loose. There was no storage due to the size of the room, even though the room was advertised with a wardrobe, and no complimentary chocolates. Either The Blue Bell or Booking.com need to update the listing. Otherwise a pleasant stay, but seriously overpriced.

  : Location . The lady who cooked breakfast was great
  : Confusion when checking in, no hot water for showers, we booked two rooms. My friend in the other room found that it had been used with cats and my companion has an allergy which gave him an unpleasant reaction. We were overcharged for drinks we didnt have.

  : Enjoyed our stay at the Blue Bell, we had a very warm reception and we were very lucky that despite pre-advised staff shortages, a sandwich lunch was able to be offered which was gratefully received. The room was a good size with working amenities, such as TV, coffee/tea making. Bathroom was clean and everything worked as expected. Good breakfast in the morning and very kindly our bags were looked after whilst we went out for the day.
