  : The hotel is based in the centre of the town which is very convenient for sightseeing.
  : We last visited this hotel some years ago, presumably after a refurbishment as its fixtures and fittings then appeared in good condition. Now the decor is looking rather tired, time for another refresh? On a positive note, the breakfast menu in particular is extensive and should satisfy everyone's tastes, plus the staff were generally friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

  : Typical UK room, for the good and fot the bad. Good welcome, great breakfast. Room in line with old British establishments, although entrance has been revamped. Very well placed in the local square, good parking
  : Just the usual British good (?) Old, creaky accommodations. You can find them throughout the British Isles. Not a minus for this historical pub but not even a plus.

  : The Hotel was in the center of the high street in Marlborough so we didn't need our car once parked. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.The food menu had a good selection of meals, especially the choice for breakfast. The bedroom was a good size, clean and comfortable but only one window opened slightly to allow fresh air in. We were only staying for a couple of nights to see what was in and around the Marlborough area as we had not visited that area before. We used the local bus service to get to Hungerford. We enjoyed our couple of days there.
  : I would say the hotel was beginning to look a bit tired and could do with a freshening up. The carpet was very dark and their were quite a few worn patches on the stairs. So with dark furniture and curtains in the bedrooms as well it could do with brightening up. I do realise it has a date of 1745 outside so I suppose trying to keep it in character is not easy. But as I said we still enjoyed our stay.
