  : There was nothing to like about this accommodation. We arrived at agreed time but pub was locked and dark and phone went to voice mail. After 10 mins they rang, said the room was open. I asked about an eve meal and was told pub open at 6pm. Half hour later, a text message said the pub was closed all eve and we could get a meal in Oakham 8 miles away. I replied asking about breakfast but received no response from the owners. They did not contact us again during the entirety of our 2 night stay.
  : No breakfast available either morning - first place we have stayed where breakfast unavailable, usually you pay extra when the price includes just the room. No fire exit signs, in the room or in the corridor, despite being on the first floor. We paid for de luxe room - it was small, nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom, minimal surface space in bedroom, no chair, no room information, no luxury touches. Had to balance the kettle on the carpet as no plug near the tea tray. The room was not serviced on Tues but there was no explanation. We seemed to be the only people in the pub/accommodation - we had no name for the owners, their single text was unsigned. We paid 184 non refundable for no service.

  : The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The room has recently been refurbished to a high quality and the bathroom was excellent. The food at the pub was good value and was also excellent.
  : The carpet had not been cleaned. We had to ask the pub staff to bring over a vacuum cleaner to clear up hair, sequins and I trod on a earring! The mugs alonswide the coffee machine were also dirty. The pub staff were very helpful but said the accommodation was a separate Airbnb so they were not really responsible (this was certainly not clear on the booking!). There was no breakfast available at the pub or nearby. The were no kitchen facilities in the room. Again this was not clear on the booking. We had to travel to Oakham (8 miles away) to get something to eat on both mornings of our stay. The booking receipt mentioned 12 per person per room for dinner. The pub staff knew nothing about this so we had to pay full cost for our evening meals. Can someone please explain this?

  : The room was tidy and an adequate size for a two night stay and the bed reasonably comfortable.
  : Upon arrival (check in from 12pm) at 1pm there was no one at the pub, despite the sign outside saying open from 12pm. We called the number on the signage plus the mobile we had been given upon booking, no answer. After 15 minutes or so a butcher arrived with a deliver who thankfully had a different phone number and someone came and let us in who had been upstairs the whole time. The room itself, while tidy and relatively clean (still toothpaste around the sink) lacked the finishing touches. Coffee machine, but no kettle although teabags where supplied? No soap in the bathroom which we thought was a minimum requirement. There were no fire evacuation instructions in the room, despite being upstairs at the end of a long corridor above the kitchen, so if a fire occurred thats where it would be. The room had no guest information like wifi code etc and breakfast is not served on site either. We're currently experiencing a heatwave, but the bedroom window was painted shut which made the room very stuffy.

  : Beautiful room, lovely decor, recently renovated I think. Comfy bed and very quiet (Cromwell room facing church).Friendly staff, very helpful when needed.Nice pub, enjoyed the beer garden and evening entertainment. Food was ok.
  : Despite stating arrival time on the booking, the room wasnt ready til nearly 4pm. We would have arrived later if wed know thered be an issue.A few issues with the room: no milk (had to ask for it), no hot water (thermostat turned up when asked), no kettle only coffee pod machine (water isnt hot enough for tea).Suggest a kettle is added to the room. When water is run in the bathroom its very noisysome kind of pump noise. Guess nothing can be done about that.Over-priced for room only basis considering the issues. If breakfast was included, I think it would be reasonable.

  : Really friendly staff at what looked like a great pub. We had a drink in the bar but we were only staying for 1 night visiting friends. The room and bathroom had everything you needed for a short stay, tea, coffee etc although no breakfast is served which we knew when booking. There are only 2 rooms and accessible from a different entrance to the pub which was nice
