  : A convenient stop in central Kettering. The owner met me and showed me round. The bedroom was comfortable and well furnished. A very good breakfast at a convenient time.
  : Noise transmitted up and down from my room to the room below - I could hear them snoring, and I'm sure they would have heard me moving about. The shower wasn't easy to use.

  : A bit down at heel and very eccentric (in all respects) compared with other places these days. It had a 'sit-com' vibe. This might appeal to many!

  : So, we are very split on our views following our 1 night stay.The location for us was ideal in our circumstances.From the outside, the house looked old & quirky; reminded us of a haunted house. To the left of this was the coach house with a parking area between the two buildings.Upon booking (booking.com) it was nice to have a few interactions with the owner, Mrs McQuade; thanking us for booking, enquiring into our arrival time, any dietary requirements and need of parking.Upon arrival (which was before 3pm check in) we approached the old house and walked up the stairs to the front door. This was opened by Mrs McQuade daughter, who was friendly. Thankfully our room was ready early.We entered the front lounge whereby Mrs McQuade introduced herself and proceeded to take down our breakfast options for the following morning. (I personally liked the old fashioned pen and paper style) The room contained various furniture, pictures, ornaments etc.. very interesting, it felt like being in a museum.Following this we took our cases to the 'Coach House', opened the main door whereby we were met with a damp type smell. To the right were stairs (apparently access to the upstairs room) and our door to our downstairs room directly in front of us.Having entered our room, it was like we had been teleported to years gone by. A quaint old fashioned room, with furnishings and knick knacks to boot including sweet China teacups and wrapped sweets including humbugs along with old fashioned individually wrapped soaps.Whilst we found this rather endearing, including the unusual red window behind the closed curtains; what let the room down was the musty pungent smell. Due to this smell we made a decision not to bring all of our clothes into the room and left them in our car.Within the room there was a small fridge containing small individual milk portion pots.There was a TV which was on the desk opposite the bed.
  : Damp type smell having opened the front door of the coach house.The en suite was also a bit of a let down for us. Not necessarily the size, but looking tired and in need for a refurbishment.The mattress, made of sweat during the night.What let the room down was the musty pungent smell.Being woken by the guest in the top room, slammed the door and stomped upstairs during the early hours and hearing what felt like every moment and speaking in the room.The one thing that let the breakfast down was the sachets of sauces, these were the cheap tasting sauces unfortunately.
