  : Comfortable room; great location for St Cuthbert's Way, evening meal available, friendly staff.
  : Rooms appear to be all doubles and room rates are high for the area, making this an expensive stay for a solo hiker. However, not much else available. It would be good with the trend to increasing numbers of solo travellers if more single rooms or better rates were made available.

  : No atmosphere, no locals , we were only guests . Main pub not used so in tiny corner of hotel. Very weird . Main Pub actually shut .

  : Chicken was so dry at dinner, had we been asked how it was you would have been told.Price was very steep , almost 40% MORE than a hugely more impressive hotel in Jedburgh the night before!

  : Great location for St Cuthbert’s Way. Warm welcome from the staff. Dinner ok, breakfast good. Room clean and comfortable, bathroom functional though a squeeze to get in.
  : Being stuck outside, cold and wet, for 2 hours plus waiting for the check in time. It is not ok to advertise yourself as a hotel and not even let guests into the common parts to sit down, have a drink etc. Really poor service in that regard. No explanation but I expect it is a staff shortage. The outside looks terrible - weeds everywhere, peeling paint, empty flower boxes (or weed filled). Likely the same reason, but it all gives an impression of a business going under.

  : The food was good, great choice, & the staff were pleasant
  : The plug in the sink didn't work. We told the staff who fixed it immediately but it still didn't work or we didn't have the knack. There was also a damp patch on the wall. The room was well decorated though & nice to stay in
