  : The host was wonderful with communication prior to arrival. The cottage was beautifully renovated and decorated with nice furnishings, a fully stocked kitchen with utensils, microwave, etc. The bed was firm and very comfortable to sleep on. In general, the appearance far exceeded our expectations and looked nicer in person than in the pictures.
  : Two things give this a fair rating. 1) Location: We didn't know that one of the windows in the living room and kitchen faced the entryway to a recovery center literally right outside the window. Disclosure of this would have been appreciated prior to our arrival. 2) The heating system timer was pre-arranged in the directions that were left for us by the management, and according to the written directions could only be changed on one of the space heaters in the living room. We literally were freezing and ended up sleeping fully clothed with sweaters on. The timer would turn the heat on to a liveable level at 7 AM. However, we would leave by 9AM for sight seeing so evenings when we returned were very cold with the exception of the last evening which was beautiful. Had we had this warmth our entire stay, we would have given this location a much higher rating. In all honesty, the recovery center ended up not being that much of an issue, but if I had been staying alone as a woman, I would have kept the blinds closed and wouldn't have felt safe because a sign in the parking lot read: "Vehicles and contents are left here entirely at owners risk." Also, as senior citizens we were unable to use the shower. Firstly we were freezing cold, and secondly there wasn't any handles to hold on to -- and the tub itself had an unsteady sliding shower door. In conclusion, this beautiful apartment indeed has possibilities, but our stay was not a comfortable one.

  : Terraced cottage in a very nice "built up", but relatively private, location in historic residential complex. In very convenient location. First impressions excellent. Well-designed, spacious internal layout. Thoughtfully appointed, with most things we needed, including instruction leaflets. Comfortable, with heating that could be easily regulated. Owners friendly and helpful, providing efficient service.
  : Actual location seemed not quite as easy to find as expected, from photo provided. Did we not read information carefully enough? Key pad a bit tricky to operate, as its internal lighting went out. Managed to see numbers using my torch, however; then no problem. We know Inverness and environs quite well but, though information was provided about nearby eateries, strangers might also like some information leaflets about the area.
