  : very helpful owner, nice neighboorhood, far enough away from the tourist crowds, at the same time close enough to reach everything by foot
  : car traffic noise from the street. not a major street, but the windows are quite thin.

  : Location is decent enough, everything is accessible from the location. The host was Informative and welcoming.
  : Bed was relativey small for a near 6 foot person and the toilet is in an awakward spot, again for a 6 foot person

  : Beds were comfortable, tea kettle in room very convenient. The area is quiet. Bus stop across the street or within a few minutes walk. Some good cafes and restaurants in the area as well.

  : Cozy little room in a quiet location. Breakfast was delicious. David was very helpful with recommendations. He went above and beyond to accommodate an additional request, even on mother's day. Thank you for a safe, comfortable, and memorable stay in Edinburgh.
  : The room was smaller than expected, but cozy even still. The doorknob in the shared bathroom is quite tricky to operate and the shower temperatures were extremely hard to regulate- oscillating between hot and cold (though this could have been attributed to my limited knowledge of how to use UK water heaters). Other than that, it was a great stay.

  : The host was very welcoming and friendly and was laid back in a pleasant way. Over breakfast he told us about Edinburgh's history and places of interest. Breakfast was good (fruits, toast, cheese, marmalade, cereals, and great filter coffee) and more than enough, but as continental Europeans we do miss our 'freshly baked' small bread. Nevertheless we feel that we had a good, substantional start of the day!

Disappointing

  : Room was spacious and pretty clean (some hairs in sink and shower) located on a quiet side street.
  : We booked a twin room. Upon arrival we were assigned a small double bed with the excuse, booking.com had messed up the booking. Staff did not make any ammends beyond an extra duvet. Additionally we overlooked that the accomodation only accepts cash. After not promptly replying to what seemed like an automated response from the accomodation we were threatened with cancelation if we did not deposit a pre-booking fee into a private account that was sent to us. Upon phoning the accomodation we were informed these measures were taken to guarantee we were actually coming and to avoid paying fees to booking.com. The stay was agreeable apart from these things, but I would not go again as our experience was disappointing and raised some concerns. Staff was not very accomodating to our problem and only apologised a day later, blaming booking.com.
