  : The bed was lovely and big, the pillows were very soft. The room was very clean, modern. The view of castle was great. Good selection at breakfast and good portions. Staff in restaurant were very friendly, they offered to get me things from buffet when they saw I was using crutches as were the staff who cleaned our room. Bathroom clean. Loved the location. Loved the little pressie of the Bath duck!
  : When we first arrived we rang the bell to assist with our cases up the stairs but no-one came. I was on crutches so really struggled. No lift to ground floors?? the reception staff said I could ask staff to take us down in their lift but difficult to find them when needed and reception staff saw I was struggling and made no effort to offer me this option. I asked one reception staff about the facilities in the pool and sauna area and asked if there were any changing rooms, showers and hairdryer as I didn't want to walk about the hotel with wet hair and towels and he said he didn't know!? surely your staff should know what is in the hotel, he didn't have a clue. He also didn't say he will ask someone and let me know, seemed to not be bothered.I was also disappointed when I first looked out from our room to see a horrible mess in front, (inaccessible balcony) maybe some artificial grass and some flowers in pots would be nice, (I noticed the Heights balcony looked nice) there is a premium on the room for castle view but the state of the balcony distracts from this. No drawers in room, only a very small rail in wardrobe very limited storage to put clothes etc. Very poor water pressure in shower. The chairs in restaurant looked old and worn which is a shame as everywhere else seemed so fresh.

  : Breakfast was great. Location was good in old town. Staff was nice and helpful.
  : Bed was too hard and uncomfortable. Tub is very challenging to get into to take a shower and the tub shape kept me off balance while taking a shower (most US people never take baths ). No grab handles to get out so very unsafe. Too many stairs just to get into front desk with heavy suitcases.

  : Located in Grassmarket, very convenient for almost everything you want to visit in Edinburg. Surprisingly "mostly" quiet at night.
  : Not a very comfortable hotel. Hard mattress and pillow. No AC, which would have been nice in the hottest days of summer. To be honest, maybe they don't really need it 360 days of the year. The bathroom is not old... but it is starting to need an update. It was maybe too basic when it was new. Water from the shower on the bathroom floor even being careful, no air extractor or not working. What do you really need from a hotel? A comfortable bed and shower. In summary, I will not choose this one next time.

  : Amazing location and lovely views over the castle and right outside lovely pubs (some noise on weekends). Friendly helpful front desk team no issue to store bags. Clean and good beds. Lift access to rooms but a few stairs to lobby. Breakfast was great range and quality and worth the extra.
  : Some confusion on when payment is due so don’t be startled by direct reach out from hotel - always safer to call them directly to pay.
