  : As there were steps in the room between the door and shower room and the main bed area, there was a sensor light. I understand the reasons for having it, but it went on every time I turned over in bed.

  : The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and very well cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful, with lovely walks from the door.
  : The inn was described as being dog-friendly, and friendly they were; however, there was no direct access from our room to the outside, and no garden, and we were surprised by a 20 fee for the dog when we arrived. There is no car-park, and parking on the road is limited, so we did struggle to find a parking place when we arrived late Sunday afternoon.

  : the Ascot room was just as good as ever. Quiet but quirky with very noisy creaking floorboards, a super comfy bed and an enormous bathroom and tub,
  : The underwhelming reception. nobody seemed to be in charge or know what to do, and the young lad who eventually came to check us in said we had only booked one room and not two. And this was after i had phoned twice to confirm that we had booked 2 rooms and paid a deposit /payment for one room. There was some issue with my credit card and I then had a succession of emails threatening to cancel the booking unless paid up., which i did. The next morning we had an early start to get our friend to Heathrow and nae a point of checking that breakfast would be served at 8am. imagine our concern when we arrived at the dining room to find it dark and deserted. A man eventually arrived and showed us to a chilly table and took our orders, after another 15 minutes he reappeared to tell us that he food would be another 15 minutes a the ovens were cold and had to warm up! This is quite unacceptable : if you advertise breakfast is available at 8 am you should make sure it is!!.
