  : It was attractively decorated - but was very much form over substance.
  : Patio table was dirtyThe property is not big enough for 4 people, there is no room in the "kitchen" to make anything, there is no heating downstairs - it was freezing, the TV did not work. The toilet is down a steep flight of stairs from the main bedroom, which if you have to get up in the night is not good. There is not enough room to walk around the bed in the main bedroom. The duvet was too hot and no cooler option was provided.Parking is at the top of a very steep hill - not a problem for us but worth knowing. The property itself is up a very steep hill from the town, again worth knowing

  : A cute, little, characterful property with outstanding views and a great bathroom. The outside deck was superb, on the last night as it was balmy and we sat drinking wine whilst the town twinkled below. Beautiful linen and immaculately clean. Although up a steep hill, which is unsuitable for older people, it provided the most incredible views of Dartmouth. I was able to do morning exercises on the quayside within minutes and one day, do dawn yoga in the fields along the public trail above town, an incredible experience afforded by the location.
  : Sadly the breakfast deck was in shade during breakfast (mornings) . I feel it was a little cosy for 4 adults, better for a family with younger children. [Parking can be an issue, but that is Dartmouth! and we planned for it]

  : Fantastic views across the estuary and an ideal location just a few minutes from the harbour
  : The house seemed very clean except for the kitchen/living room floor which could have done with a good mop. We also had issues with booking through booking.com: 1) For some reason our special request for a high chair and stairgates did not reach Sykes Cottages, who manage the property. We ended up having to contact the host directly as we hadn’t heard back, who helpfully responded immediately but was ultimately unable to accommodate to due the then short notice.2) Booking.com also notified us that our other special request - to check in an hour earlier - had been approved by the host, which ultimately it had not.The host asked Sykes to look into these issues around mis-communication and get back to us, but we still haven’t had a single response. So be wary when dealing with Booking.com and Sykes and make sure you contact the host directly with any special requests.
