Beautiful 2-Bed House in Chester

  : Nice village with pub and village shop. Off road parking for two cars if required. Quite a large house with big rooms.
  : House requires maintenance, particularly the bathroom, kitchen and garden. The gas hob wouldn't light so had to buy a lighter, stairs were dirty and needed a vacuum, the garden is a tip, the front door was only secured by a door latch as there was no key for the mortice lock. Struggled to get info re how to enter property, finally getting details of where the keys were at 10:30 pm on arrival when chasing by text.

  : location and drive for parking. easy to find keys
  : It wasnt cleaned before we arrived, smelley, pubes in bed, finger nails, dirty turned off fridge with spilt milk or yogurt in it. Dirty carpets. Nails on the floor where kids played, hadnt been vacummed. You didnt want to walk around without shoes. You could forgive all the cosmetic DIY issues- random holes etc. But i do expect a property to at least be cleaned before arriving.

  : It was self catering but we mainly ate out.
  : It felt like someone had moved out to let us stay. Fridge not cleaned, usually only have a certain amount of crockery for amount of people staying, one wardrobe door had been fastened with a plastic tie, runner from front door not even hoovered, 4 cars on drive or side garden and garden was very uncared for. And cobwebs in most rooms. Apart from all the not so good stuff the beds were clean and comfy. Single room had gym equipment in

  : They were left near the door. Had the owner met us, as previously agreed he would have seen and heard our reaction to the property
  : It was absolutely filthy, my son and daughter in law likened it to very bad student digs. It certainly didnt look like a cleaner had been in!!! So if the owner is paying someone they need sacking and in the future monitoring. Not hoovered, dusted, wiped down or swept, dirt and other visitors left overs everywhere, sharp carpet tacks on the stairs we had the misfortune to either stand on or tear clothing on four times, rubbish left in a bathroom bin, debris of food left in fridge, cupboards, and lots of out of date things left in kitchen that need throwing away. You could not hold the hand rails on the stairs as there was so much grime you stuck to them then needed to wash your hands. In the bathroom were 3 towels and 2 hand towelswe were a party of 6. We did find some more that had been put in a cupboardwet!!! As the bath was awful and we were asked not to move the shower curtain or shower head because theyd literally fall off, we didnt bother. There was hair in the bathroom plug hole and grime around the tap, what looked like mould on the windows (the older ones certainly need replacing as some were cracked) and damp patches on walls. Id had a phone call the week before to say he was hoping to get the grass mowed before our arrival as the weather had been too wet, but if not, whilst we would be out through the day. It was a jungle that only a scythe or good strimmer would cut the worst so it could possibly dry out before it could be mowed. Therefore the garden was not accessible to use. The only positive was that the beds were reasonably comfy. We nearly packed up and leave the evening before, but it was a very long drive after a long day, so we were up and off at first light to get home and jump in the bath. Wish Id gone to the Travel lodge as it would have been much cheaper than the 402 we paid

  : Bath/shower is filthy. Tide marks are vile. Also its NOT a walk in shower which is accessible for people with disabilities like they claimed in the description.Bathroom bin was full from previous guests.Fridge and cupboards had other peoples left over opened food.No where had been vacuumedNo hot water4 towels provided for 6 people.Had to beg to get info on how to get into the property.Communication -not very helpful.No info re surrounding area. No WiFi code info pack.Also states that this property has outdoor seating. The old wooden chairs covered in ivy in the over grown garden cannot be considered as outdoor furniture for this property.The porch was filthy, 3 old cars parked up in the driveway covered in ripped tarpaulin. A broken shed and fence panel blocking access to back garden. We initially thought we were in the wrong place but sadly and shockingly this was it!!There is Nothing inviting about this property at all!I have many photos but the review form will only allow me to upload 4.
