: Lovely location but very isolated along heavily potholed roads. Excellent breakfasts.
: Excessively complicated coffee machine. Would have preferred something simpler, or even just a kettle and instant coffee. Television also excessively complex; basic BBC and commercial channels were unavailable! Limited availability of venues for evening meals within 10 miles.

: Loved chatting with the owner (saw John more than his other half), although I was expecting them to be Scottish (they're English). The room had a wonderful, modern farmhouse / beachy vibe. There were all kinds of teas, coffee, and cookies for us. Very comfortable bed. The whole room and bathroom were spotless and new. Very cheerful, cute kitchen and they take so much time to make little pots of jam etc for each guest. John was very helpful at advising us on what to see on Skye. We really connected with the other guests, as well. Highly recommend!
: The bathtub water heater only got warm. In order to take a bath, which is important to me, I had to fill it from the shower head, which had its own, instant water heater, very hot. It took a loooong time to fill the bath that way, but I'm grateful that they had a bathtub at all. Many places just have showers. The breakfast was extensive -- the full Scottish/English breakfast plus yogurt, fruit, cereal. But I had asked for an alternative breakfast (oatmeal) since I try to avoid gluten, dairy, and egg. Even the sausages in the UK have gluten, and the "bacon" is consistently hard and dry. Most places in Scotland offer oat milk, but they didn't have that. Even though my alternative breakfast never materialized, the owners were extremely warm and kind, and that goes a long way. And 98% of people are happy with the regular breakfast. They only offer it at 8:30 or 9, though, which is late if you want to get up early and get started on your tour of Skye.

: The owners are charming and they looked after us very well. The whole place is immaculate and we were delighted to be asked to leave our shoes downstairs - it gave an extra feeling of cleanliness. The room was comfortable (if rather small) and fresh milk and water were provided daily. Breakfast was plentiful, varied and tasty (although for some reason the cooked element was served on both days with a 15-20 minute delay from the time we chose - we were given the choice of 0830 or 0900). We were drenched on one day and the owners did their best to dry out our shoes for us overnight - so a big thank you for that.
: There was really NOTHING we didn't like - my only gripe would be the value ratio... The room was small and there wasn't really a table to sit at. The bathroom was fine, though the shower was pretty anaemic (in all likelihood because of the location of the property and the water pressure). We couldn't find any way of turning on the heated towel rail, and in the morning the bathroom was really quite chilly. And yet the price of a two-night stay was (to me) very high. That said, "value" depends on supply and demand - and demand on Skye is, well, sky-high - apparently even in October. On the day of arrival, I tried telephoning three times - to say we might be late and to ask for directions (the car GPS gave up!). On each occasion my call went to voicemail - apparently the reception is patchy and that sometimes happens.
