  : The property was a lovely quaint pub with attention to detail. The staff were lovely and very helpful, enjoyed a meal in the pub with some lovely ales.

  : The food was very good including breakfast, staff were very friendly, and the beds were very comfy. Decorated very nicely, with nice warm and homely colours. Lovely raging fire in the pub and a good selection of drinks. Nicely Decorated bathroom.
  : Quite dusty around the place, on lamps and when I pulled out a teabag from the holder, loads of dust flew out. The chips in the dinner were very oily, and so was the fried items in the breakfast, and maybe the oil needed changing? Not that nice tasting - the rest of the food was stunning though, good quality, Nice portions, very well cooked and very tasty.

  : Great value for money, lovely hosts and so very easy going . I stay in a lot of hotels at various price points , the price paid for two rooms with breakfast for 4 people especially given the time of year (27th December) , was excellent value for money and a real treat to stay .
  : Really not much to dislike. We more or less had the hotel to ourselves , and still received a lovely welcome , good food and great location for what we needed. The whole experience was friendly and comfortable , clean and well equipped rooms, our hosts made sure the room were lovely and cosy for our stay. Its a beautiful building and well maintained.

  : Parking facilities suitable for campervan
  : 1. Access to accommodation was external to pub - Via unlit car park. This was both a comfort and safety issue2. General poor level of cleanliness. - LOBBY - skirting boards, floors extremely dirty. This was not due to day to day use but due to historical lack of cleaning- BEDROOM - window frames had thick, black mould - vanity mirror unclean and situated next to teatray. - headboard had greasy outlines of head marks on it- BATHROOM - black mould in shower/window frames black mould3. General poor level of maintenance- BEDROOM - pillows not fit for purpose and no pillow protectors in place. We used our own pillows from Campervan/Bed sloping down towards headboard/iron burn on carpet loosely covered by a rug which could be considered a trip hazard/wallpaper peeling in areas/curtain detached in places from railBATHROOM - shower skirt detached/toilet flush takes an hour to fillPUB TOILETS (male)- thorn bush growing through open window4. Pub facilities - closed in afternoon/last orders 9.30pm/unpleasant smell from poor quality/inappropriate wood use (including reclaimed, painted pieces)5. Breakfast - no healthy cereal option/supermarket bread in original plastic bag and no serving tongs/main cooked breakfast very greasy/items of crockery unclean. There was no staff member around at checkout. We therefore e mailed our complaints directly to the hotel. We received a reply which contains no apology but general praise for the hotel itself, drawing attention in particular to the usual high marks and very good reviews that it receives on the booking sites. As these issues are clearly long standing, we can only presume that previous dissatisfied guests have been unwilling to spend their valuable time on reporting their negative experiences.

  : The staff were so welcoming and generally lovely. The food in the evening was delicious and plentiful. The full English breakfast was lovely and a bonus to the price.The shower was a great temperature.
