  : The hotel is located in Clifton, an interesting part of Bristol. From there you can reach the famous Suspension Bridge with a leisurely walk of about 10-15 minutes. If you walk across Victoria Square, you will pass behind it in a very pleasant area with nice cafés and other shops. This area has a very relaxed atmosphere and is a great place to linger. From the hotel to the centre of Bristol, on the other hand, the walk takes a little longer. Here it takes about 15 minutes and the path leads through a very lively and busy part of Bristol, which then leads into the centre of Bristol at the cathedral, so to speak. In this respect, the location of the hotel is quite good. The entrance to the hotel itself and the reception are very promising, but unfortunately the rest of the hotel cannot maintain this.
  : The rooms are small, but that didn't bother us. However, the double bed is very narrow and the cleanliness of the room (especially in the bathroom) also left a lot to be desired. Also, the seals of the glass pane in the shower (or bathtub) are not tight, which is why half the bathroom is under water after showering. The hotel also offers tea and coffee to make yourself in the room. Unfortunately, the coffee in our room was empty. We had also asked for a quiet room in advance. We were given a room on the third floor, which was supposed to be quieter. But that wasn't the case, as the windows faced the side with a pub and beer garden below. We could hear the guests there late into the night. We were very surprised that - despite our request for a quiet room - we were not given a room on the other side facing a less frequented street.

  : Received an email in the early morning after I checked out regarding a charge to my card for the minibar. I didn't even know there was a minibar! Card charged automatically and an angry email sent asking for room number confirmation and to check with their cleaning staff. I refuse to pay for something I didn't use, especially as they charged me for something I would never drink!

  : The hotel is very clean and in a lovely area of Bristol. The room was simple but comfortable, with a bed bigger than a usual single. The room was on the third floor and quite hot, but they provide an electric fan. The bathroom was good and very clean. The staff is exceptionally helpful; I had a skirt which I needed to dry clean and they arranged it very well and also accommodated me in the quiet room I had requested (thanks Katie!). Breakfast in the pub below the hotel is very good. The hotel also allow early check-in/late check out if available (something I rarely find in hotels and I travel quite frequently): it was a great option and made my travelling a lot easier. Highly recommended hotel.

  : I didn’t like anything about the property
  : Just about everything. I am surprised the building hasn’t been condemned. The room was absolutely minuscule - couldn’t even open the door fully. The en-suite was a joke - tiny and very tacky and plastic. The room itself was dreadful, paint peeling off the wall, rusty old window frame. The room was on the 3rd floor under a mansard roof so when we arrived it was absolutely stifling hot. There was a spring sticking up in the mattress which poked me in the ribs all night. The corridor to the rooms was so narrow and heaven help if there had been a fire, I would hate to think how you would get out safely. The corridor smelt of fried food. The outside of the hotel looks as if it has been properly maintained for years, scruffy and unloved. And to charge £126 for this was a disgrace.
