  : On arrival, the person who checked us in didn't ask for our name or reference number. Instead, he just threw the key to room 8 across the reception desk. As we walked up the stairs, the place stunk of weed and there was even graffiti on the wall of the stairs along with numerous holes that had been badly patched. The room was clean enough but the walls were paper thin and you could hear everything that was going on outside and in the rooms adjacent. The main bed was broken, the springs had gone and when you sat down, you sunk right into it. After heading out to the shop across the road, it seemed odd the number of homeless people in and around the hotel. Once I returned to the room, i looked at reviews on trip advisor (booking.com rates this 7/10 and I struggled to find a bad review whilst scrolling through the "relevant" reviews filter). The bad reviews on TripAdvisor were alarming to say the least, these reviews indicated that the hotel often houses homeless people and even provides the room at an "hourly rate". Everybody who has provided a negative review coincidentally has the same issues (fighting, screaming and shouting all through the night) and most had checked out in the early hours. I didn't want to take this risk and checked my family out around 9pm. The person on reception asked why we were leaving, to which I explained the hotel doesn't feel.sagw, there's graffiti on the walls and the place sticks of weed. The receptionist just looked at me and didn't offer any explanation or to try and rectify the situation.I don't understand how booking.com continue to promote this property when it evidently has real safety issues. You specifically have to filter for negative reviews only to find rhe bad ones otherwise you will just keep scrolling past average reviews (probably fake).I have complained to booking.com who have just put me back onto the property.
