  : The pub is well located and easy to find. There's no private parking, but there's a pay-and-display over the road. The staff were very personable. The breakfast was ample and cooked to order. It's fair to say the place has mixed reviews across different review sites, but on balance I decided to give it a go.
  : The place is well-meaning with a friendly team, but it all lacks attention to detail and everything you'd want for the price paid. For example, there's wi-fi, but it was never mentioned on check-in and there were no log in details (I have my own mobile wi-fi though). Neither were breakfast times mentioned, or check out times. There was no guest info in the room, or fire evacuation info (what if?) Other niggles included curtains the wrong size for the window, a broken window latch so it didn't shut properly, no bathmat, and an eccentric flickering ceiling light hinting at electrical issues. It was basically clean, but everywhere the lacked the final 'polish' and fastidiousness some people would insist on. An aircon or fridge compressor unit near the window droned all night and guaranteed a disturbed night's sleep. Many of these things other reviewers mentioned in the past, but have not been picked up on and dealt with.Another thing not mentioned was the building work going on to the place right outside the window, but I found out the hard way. Banging, crashing, a blaring radio and workmen "effing and jeffing" after I arrived all afternoon until after 6:00pm, annoying as I had work to do. It resumed again, just as I was leaving in the morning. Breakfast was plentiful, but again lacked the detail and skill needed - no menus on the table, untidy presentation, table partially set, some items brought, others unavailable or forgotten to cook and brought later. Nobody was around to check out at the end, but I left the key and trust they found it! Putting two-and-two together it felt like the managers and staff experience (and main interest?) was on the pub food and drink side, and there was less interest (and acumen?) for the guest rooms aspect. A management challenge!

  : Nice accommodation handy for the town centre with disabled parking which was a big help
  : The flat was lovely. However we had no hot water except for the electric shower. I reported this to the manager but sadly nothing happened. She said it was to do with a different boiler??? Also the breakfast set up seemed a little disorganised. The full English breakfast was very nice but took a while to be served. The remote for the tv was the wrong one for the make of telly. Just a few minor tweaks needed here that would make all the difference.

  : Excellent friendly check-in and a nice pub with a good sensibly-priced well-kept pint of Butty. Comfortable room and a nicely cooked breakfast
  : The wait for breakfast was lengthy, and coffee arrived after I'd eaten it, some 35 minutes after I sat down. Others around me waited even longer. There was some sort of air conditioning unit or similar which was running outside my window all night, and was very loud, impacting my sleep.

  : Really good location (only a 5 minute walk into high town). Staff was friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was tasty. Rooms were clean and had everything you need for a night away.
  : If I had to be picky, the music was very loud but it does state on their website that there is live music on a Saturday night. Think our room was right above the bar so the music was extremely loud in our room. It did stop around half 11 so was able to get to sleep then.
