  : While Brae Hotel is a little dated in terms of its decor, do not underestimate this gem. What makes a hotel is without a doubt its staff, and here Brae Hotel really exceeds expectations. The staff were honestly some of the nicest people we've ever experienced at a hotel, particularly Curtis and Scott who served our dinners and breakfasts. They were incredibly kind, and both excellent at their jobs, keeping us topped up with food/drinks and providing an efficient, polite and smiley service throughout. Their warm welcome really made our stay wonderful, and I would definitely stay here again! Cooked breakfast is included in the price of the room, and the rooms are comfortable and have all the facilities you might need.
  : The wifi was a little patchy at times, but nothing serious.

  : Staff were lovely and the hotel was clean and tidy. Room was nice and bed comfy. Brae is a lovely little location and a great place for exploring the upper mainland.

  : The location was excellent. We were close driving distance to the ferry to go to Yell and Unst, and the person at the front desk helped us with reserving a place on the ferry. Breakfast was cooked to order, plentiful and delicious. I'm so glad we chose to stay in Brae.
  : We stayed in a room with two twin beds. The room was smaller than we expected. One of the beds needs to be replaced as we both found it rather uncomfortable. The other bed was very comfortable. We told one of the housekeepers about the bad bed, so hopefully the hotel replaced it.

  : As far as my wife and d I are concerned this hotel deserves an exceptional rating solely because of the efforts of Scott and Curtis who run the kitchen, restaurant and bar for sure at breakfast and dinner and I assume lunch although we never ate lunch at the hotel. We stayed 4 nights and these two gentleman made us feel respected , welcome and well cared for. They are the heart of the hotels customer service.The front desk personnel were also friendly and welcoming and we were allowed to check-in very early after arriving on the morning ferry.
  : The bar does not open until the restaurant does, at 6:00.
