: Lovely quiet location. Night sky amazing. Nice big bath towels. Friendly owners. Cake as a welcome. Plenty of hot water. Central heating or open fire. Brochures useful but too many out.
: Kitchen cupboard full of half empty & empty cleaning bottles left by previous guests. Would not use any as all looked grubby. Dirty kitchen bin lid (inside)Fridge door not shutting properly food not safely stored. Kettle black residue coating inside with black limescale. I descaled with vinegar as bits in drinks. Cups all tea stained. Non stick coating on oven trays peeled off onto food. Only one very small frypan with loose handle made breakfast a challenge. No Wifi at all & 4g only worked in one upstairs window. I had no use for a washing machine but would have used a dishwasher every day but there wasnt one. Both wifi & dishwasher are quite basic requirements nowadays. Shower seal bottom had black mould. Bed squeaked when you moved. Bedding old & poor quality & covers very bobbly. Used own bedding. Last guest stuff left in drawers Sofas covered with mismatched fur fabric throws that I wouldnt sit on as dogs allowed, though owner claims to wash covers washed before every new guest. Lots of grotty loose throws everywhere; again not nice & not hygienic. Felt as if furnished with all the tat that owners no longer wanted in their home! Clutter everywhere. I think supposed to be homely but I want space for my stuff not loads of other peoples reject clutter. Too many books & other stuff in lounge. TV remote wouldnt work properly. Bathroom door hit the toilet when you opened it. Disliked rag rugs & carpets in lounge & bedroom's again because dogs allowed & I consider it unhygienic.

: The location was great for visiting the local area of Weardale.
: The access was a little more difficult than we thought as we hadn't reckoned on opening so many gates to get to the property. Our fault for not checking details more thoroughly.
