  : The room was as modern as you could expect in a listed building, Dinner was excellent Breakfast was good. The grounds offered enough paths to stretch your legs after dinner. The Bar served a good selection of drinks but was limited to bottled beer as draught beers were impractical due to the limitations of the buildings listed status. Overall would definately stay again in the future.
  : Dogs in the restaurant was an issue for my wife but i personally hardly noticed them

  : Lovely setting but fairly small ground with little else to do but swim in unheated pool or sit in two small common rooms
  : Check out process is self service - really impersonal way of saying goodbye to people. It’s a luxury hotel, expectation that someone say thank you and makes sure you’re stay was ok is the least that be offered. Pool is heated but be warned, it was cold! Children couldn’t stay in much more than 10 minutes. No pool towels both days, which meant the whole stay we spent playing games changing room & pool towels around at various points.

  : Beautiful house, pool looked lovely, big grounds for dogs to run around, very easy with dogs and children. The technology of checking in/out was good - able to do it remotely and just leave.
  : Gosh it’s expensive for what it is. I do understand Grade 1 buildings are expensive to keep but that appears to be what you’re paying for.The food that we had was average- just lunch but the quality was poor, not in keeping with the much promoted AA rosettes (although this was the pool menu) and expensive. We didn’t eat in the main restaurant as nothing appealed and it was too expensive for a relaxed meal with kids. We saw pizza cartons in the bins outside and another family mentioned they were getting takeaway so clearly others felt the same.The pool was nice to sit round and whilst heated everyone commented that it was only just bearable to be in- my husband’s fingers went white after 5 minutes. Many of the sun loungers were broken and there was nowhere to shower or change before getting into the pool. They did allow dogs everywhere (even by the pool) which was great.The staff were strange- one waiter was enthusiast and great, others just ignored us and didn’t appear until we went to find them. There didn’t appear to be any management on site on a Saturday.The rooms are in need of love, you could feel springs in the mattress and the bathroom was very tired and there was a strong smell of sewage from outside our window. The room was surprisingly hot for an old building so we had to have windows open which meant the smell in the room also. Very few plug sockets for the many gadgets you need to charge these days - potentially due to the listing but not what you’d expect in this level of hotel.
