  : Our room was clean and looked lovely on arrival. Beautifully decorated, nice smelling shower products, lovely soft towels. Our Lunch was amazing, each course so delicious, compliments to the Chef. We sat outside in the sunshine, beautiful garden view. Breakfast was tasty. Staff were attentive and friendly at all times. The Star was in a beautiful location near to where we were meeting with a friend.
  : Our room was clean and beautifully decorated but the sloping ceiling made it awkward to get in and out of bed, also the bed was very small for a double so not as comfortable with two people in it.

  : No cot available but this wasnt an issue - we were able to work around it. Wouldnt change how highly we rate the Star Inn

Disappointing

  : The breakfasts were excellent as were the wait staff. The beds were comfortable.
  : My booking was inadvertently made for 2 breakfasts for two days when it should have been for 4. When I spoke to the Inn a week before arrival I was told that the extra charge would be 50. Instead I was charged 60+ on arrival (I can't remember the exact amount but it was over 60). I advised the Inn that we were picking up the other couple from Swindon Station at 7.54pm. What time did the kitchen close? I was told 9.30pm. The train was 10 minutes late and it's a 30 minute drive from there so I called from the car, only to be told that the kitchen was closing at 8:45. We had to phone through our orders. This was stressful. Finally, my booking was for 1 double room & 1 twin. However, on arrival, I was told that it was 2 twin rooms. The latter are much smaller. The above took the shine off the weekend, hence the low scores.

  : Staff were very good, excellent service in restaurant and at breakfast. Food very good if a bit pricey for a familyGood location for what we needed to do.
  : Bed in our room, room 7 was very uncomfortable, mattress extremely soft, poor night's sleep both nights. Room in roof so ceiling very low, continually hitting head on ceiling.Son had room 3 which was downstairs and much better.

  : Absolutely love the Star and have stayed there quite a few times now. Very welcoming staff and feel quite comfortable being a solo traveller. Excellent food too!
  : Sadly they no longer take dogs. Unfortunately as I always have my faithful companion with me I wont be able to stay there again

  : Ground floor room, had window open but there was noise on the gravel outside that woke me a few times throughout the night. Also, my friends had breakfast included and I didnt. Not sure why as our rooms cost the same amount.
