  : Mr. Yusuf communicated even before our arrival in Istanbul; his accommodations are comfortable, well equipped and very well situated. The apartment has all the necessities and our favorite was the washing machine (even the detergent was generously provided). Although the location is off of a busy street, the bedroom is situated in the quiet side of the building. Above all, our host Mr. Yusuf was responsive to all our requests and woke up at 4am to wish us farewell. We will be back for sure! Thank you for everything Mr. Yusuf!

  : The flat is very nice and very much home like place. We were at ease and enjoyed our stay. Very helpful staff. And everything we needed was provided.
  : Second hand smoking was a bit of a problem as we don't smoke and we have two babies. You have to go up the stairs to the first floor to use the lift but that is better than no lift at all. The house is over a 100 meters up a hill so, if you have pushchairs it is a challenge but then Istanbul is a hilly city.

  : well he sells the apartment as two rooms which is not, it is just the living room which has a big. bed and a bunk bed. only one bathroom to share. other than that everything is fine.

  : The apartment is good enough. Hospitality. A convenient location, though it may be a bit challenging to carry your luggage from/to the underground station since the local area streets have a steep slope.
  : Sound isolation in windows could have been better. A mullah's song may wake one up in the morning since a mosque is not so far.

  : The owner of this apartment lives in the building, which is very convenient. The apartment is very plain inside, but all appliances are new in the kitchen, and the bathroom is new (it's all been recently redone), and the bed is very comfortable. The furniture is very plain and is mostly not new. The building is on a busy street, but the apartment was very quiet: no street noise, and no loud muezzin calls in the morning. We didn't know what the street would be like, but we definitely chose this place because of it's excellent location. Having been to Turkey in the past, I knew that I didn't really want to stay in the old city, but I also wanted to stay very close by and close to excellent tranportation options. We used public transit of all sorts the whole time, and Waterfall is ideally positioned near the tram, funicular, ferry, and so forth. It was really great to be able to get around and back "home" so easily. Yusuf, the owner, was incredibly responsive and was kind: the city turned off the water for a few hours one day, which ended up causing air to build up in the shower head, and there was a water-driven explosion in the shower that resulted in a big mess, not to mention that the head of the shower hose broke. Yusuf managed to get it fixed the same day, even though it was a Sunday! He also had the apartment cleaned for us. The view from the apartment over the Bosphorus is pretty fabulous, though given the nature of the street, one might not want to spend a lot of time on the balcony. We didn't.
  : There is one big flaw with this apartment, and it's why we cannot give it a top rating: the entire building reeks of cigarette smoke. In Turkey, more than in many other countries where smoking is still very prevalent, the percentage of smokers is not only very high, there's also a concomitant acceptance of smoking everywhere and smoker's rights dominate those of non-smokers culturally, even if there are plenty of venues where it's theoretically illegal to smoke inside. So to come back to an apartment that smelled so strong, to breathe in secondhand smoke, and to see that even the sofas/furniture had cigarette burn holes on them in several places, was a bit too much for us. We are very spoiled to live in California, and we are sensitive when we go to our other home country of Italy, but this was a bit too much beyond the pale. I wish that we could say that I give higher recommendations for this place, but we personally would not want to stay there again because of this issue. This, despite the fact that everything else about the apartment, including the price, was really ideal (not luxurious, but very good on all other fronts). If you are a nonsmoker, you will want to think twice or even more times about choosing to stay here. Some people might also not like the fact that it's not easily accessible for cars or taxis as it is on a narrow street/hill that is crammed with people and shops. We were able to get rides to the airport and back without a problem through a particular service, but it's clear that taxis are not crazy about this street. Still, Istanbul is not for cars.
