  : We traveled for a short weekend escape in Istanbul and really wanted a luxurious experience. We thought this hotel could offer us that based on the prices, photos and reviews. WE WERE WRONG! The whole experience was very disappointing! The hotel feels kind of neglected and the staff is really not equipped to deal with the customers. The following sore points summarize our experience: - 1st and foremost, we paid 250 euros/night to book a room with a marvelous view of Bosphorus. We opted out of a more spacious room or a suite because we specifically wanted the view to enjoy our short stay. The photos accompanying the booking showed an open view of the golden horn waterway from all windows of the room. To our dismay, when we entered the room, we saw that two of the windows were facing directly onto the opposite wall of the building and into other guests rooms. The one window that had a semblance of a view was overlooking the golden horn but only sideways. When our complains were brought forth to the reception we received just a were sorry you are not satisfied but there is nothing we can do attitude. - The room was generally worn out and in need of a renovation! The furniture has seen better days as have the towels and sheets. Inexcusable for a hotel of its price!!!! - The second night of our stay, I requested from the reception a couple of vanity kits (we didnt allow for housekeeping service during the day so the amenities were not refreshed). I had to go through two different calls trying to explain what I needed (the staff had difficulty with basic English) and had to wait over the phone only to never actually receive the simple amenity I asked for. - The bathroom was very counterintuitively designed resulting in a stained by water stamps sink immediately. The surrounding area of the sink was also easily splashed with water which made it impossible to use it as a stand for cosmetics and other necessities.
