  : The only good thing about this apartment was it's location
  : The host doesn't care about guests health or comfort. When we arrived, took the keys and lend our money to the host, we noticed some smell like air freshener or washing powder. One window was half-opened so we assumed that the smell will disappear after some time. Also the wooden floor was extremely shiny, we thought that it was just cleaned. We left for a walk in the city. When we, all tired, returned late in the evening, we realised that there is much stronger toxic smell and that it is the smell of floor varnish.It was hard to be there - I started to feel head pain and my husband described it as "I could throw up right now". It was obviously dangerous to sleep here. Also later we realised that earlier when we took the keys the host used air freshener to hide the smell (!) of the varnish (and we even found that spray in kitchen shelf). So we contacted host about the problem. He approved (!) that the floor was just varnished and asked how can he help. We told that we do not want to sleep or stay here due to unliveable conditions of the apartment and we want our money back. He replied: "I can't refund your money you entered the apartment, the apartment is booked. If you had said at the entrance that it did not suit you, of course you would have received your money back". I replied: "But I don't think that someone could live here instead of us today in this conditions so it's not like you are losing money because we want to cancel".And I am sure I'm right. He should not be expecting to earn money while the apartment after renovation.We wanted to gather some evidence so when we heard that neighbours of the apartment are awake, we asked them to be our witness and try to smell the air in the apartment, the neighbour didn't want to do it because he knows the owner, but he also approved (!) that the apartment was recently renovated. We opened windows and the door - it didn't help.
