Surrounded by the lush forests of the São Mamede Mountains in Portalegre this former convent is decorated with several historic armours weapons and antiques. The surrounding garden features an outdoor pool and free WiFi is available throughout the entire unit. With terracotta floors all rooms and suites at Convento Da Provença come equipped with a satellite TV and minibar. Each bathroom includes a hairdryer and amenities.
A breakfast buffet is served daily and it is composed of regional and homemade products. During Spring and Summer this can be enjoyed in the terrace while gazing at the historical ruins of the old convent and rural landscape. Light meals are available and full meals can be provided if requested in advance. Guests can relax in the shade by the garden’s pool.
When weather is chilly the convent’s lounge offers a cosy setting to read a book by the fireplace. The convent is situated less than 10 minutes' drive from Portalegre’s city centre with its charming narrow streets. The Spanish border is a 20-minute drive away from the property.
