  : Amoreiras House is a nice enough place with everything needed. Sitting out on the terrace is pleasant enough with a reasonable view across Funchal to the harbour. Within a couple of minutes walk are a great fruit & veg shop, a great bakery/cafe and a small supermarket.
  : When we followed the directions ( given to us 10 days before arrival ) we arrived at a different place to what we had booked. We were directed to Amoreiras House, Rua Quinta das Amoreiras 16, Funchal. When I asked about this, I was told the Louros House had people staying in it. Not a lot we could do if we wanted to have a holiday. The description and location shown only mentions Louros House which we booked. There is no mention of the other house, although if you look carefully at the photographs they are of 2 different houses. At Amoreiras House only one of the various electrical items ( water heater, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, single hob ring, oven ) could be used at any one time, otherwise the main circuit breaker tripped out. I was told they would put in a request for more electricity. Amoreiras House is 2km and 250m vertically from old Funchal. The most direct route to walk into Funchal is not the safest, being narrow, steep, often with no pavement and fairly busy with cars. It might have been particularly busy because of a main road nearby being closed. A walk back from Funchal is only practical if you are fit and not full of food and drink. There are frequent buses. A Bolt taxi from central Funchal costs about 6-7

  : Beautiful house in the residential area with nice view overseeing Funchal and the ocean. Nice terrace, comfy beds, it has everything what you need for longer stays. It is also well communicated with city center, but has a garage space as well. Good communication with host, clean - easy check in. I can recommend it!
  : It was a different house than the one advertised which was a bit more far away. It was still very much worth the price, but it made me feel a bit unsafe with tedious reservation process. First half of the reservation you pay via transfer immediately and then the rest is in cash only. You also have to provide a lot of information to host such as: flight details

  : I had a great stay at Louros house. The apartment is very cozy and clean. It is located in a very calm area and has a great balcony with a very nice view. The supermarket, a pharmacy and a very delicious bakery is just 2 min to reach. I would recommend everyone to stay in Lourous house! (There is also a direct bus which i going to the city centre. It takes around 10 min. Persons with mobility problems should just know that there is a very steep path to reach the house and no possibility to walk the distance.

  : We just had an excellent time staying here for a couple of days. This part of the city is really quiet at nights. The rooftop terrace with a scenic view to the ocean is amaizing. If you want to get to the city though it is a 20min walk down but still the locaton is excellent. The garden is fully planted with local fruit trees, we were encouraged by the host to harvest those. Joao prepared for us fresh eggs every day from the chicken fenced on the side of the guarden. His hospitality made us very comfortable
