: We preferred being out of the city centre so the location was good with an excellent view of the city and harbour. The local bus service allows for easy access to the town centre. The host was very accommodating and helpful. The house itself has great potential but is in need of some updating.
: Problems with electricity cutting out when we were there. The only heating device was a small electric fire in one room so at times it felt cold.

: The views and the number of rooms.
: The host messaged us the day before our check in to let us know the payment was cash only, even though our booking confirmation specified card. She was rude when we questioned this, and we werent comfortable with the instructions she gave us to keep the money outside as it was a lot of money left unguarded. The bathroom has no windows and isnt cleaned well, it had mould and hairs stuck to the bathtub.

: Location is excellent. We didn't meet the owner, but all communications were polite and aimable. Villa is 10 minutes or so by car up the mountain, from Funchal, but is quite easily accessible. The shower rooms had been recently renovated, it appears, and were very nice.
: The villa's interior was very dated, with old fashioned and we'll used furnishings. Too much furniture had been crammed in, probably on order to accommodate 8 people, the result being that the living room had 2 sofas, one of which you couldn't sit on properly and the main bedroom had an extra sofa bed which meant that the wardrobe wouldn't open properly.The front terrace is pleasant, but gives on directly to the road which is fairly busy. There is a rear courtyard with a bit more space, but it's behind the house and has no view.
