  : Very kind staff. Rooms looked nice and authentic but a little bit to small. The location is great, really in the center of the city.
  : The bathroom and the room where a little bit small and it wasnt really a hotel vibe.

  : - Location was quite central
  : - There was no proper lighting in the room - The shower was defective ; on the first night o couldnt manage to have any hot water ; water was very cold . - The shower drain was probably clogged due to which the whole shower became a swimming pool only after starting the shower for few minutes - it was very hot inside the room due to which I had to keep the windows open - it was very loud outside of the room - both due to the loud noise and extremely hot feeling inside the room , I couldnt sleep the two nights I stayed

  : Hotel Portacavana has character with its painted wardrobe and art. My room was a single but had everything such as tea and coffee making, small very quiet fridge, desk, wardrobe and comfortable bed. Christian provides a warm welcome and information on local events. He is very quick to respond when there are any problems. Loved the exposed beans and history of the place.
  : For some the flights of stairs up may be an issue and the shared bathroom but I dont mind the exercise and everyone was considerate with their time.

  : The location is great! If you like a rustic setting with character, this hotel is for you! The owner was very helpful and friendly. Beautifully decorated room.
  : The only small problem I has was with was the sockets. It was not so easy to fit a big plug.

  : is in a nice historical building with nice antique furniture. Spring bed can be a bit uncomfortable for some. But i am fine, slept well, maybe i am so tired after the long train ride. when i arrived, coincided with Barcolana- a big event here in Trieste, everywhere, and just below are pubs with DJ playing good music. is nice! The next morning, woke up by nice street instrumental music too.. is ok and nice for me.
  : Smell of Smoking downstairs flows up into the room. No Lift, my room on 3rd floor. with heavy luggage, i cannot managed. So i just backpack up and left my luggage at 1st floor reception. Christian is kind to bring up for me the next day. But i have to struggle to bring it down because Christian is not at hotel too early at 8am.

  : The hotel is in the very city centre of Trieste close to all main cultural buildings an social entertainment places. Staff was great and helpful and the room clean and not noisy. Comfortable bed and good room.
  : There was no air conditioning in the room and we were in August; there was a ventilator however, which, for a one star hotel, I can accept. The bathroom was really tiny and you had to be quite slim to enter!
