Agriturismo Mormoraia - San Gimignano

Located in the Tuscan countryside 4 km from San Gimignano the Mormoraia features an outdoor pool with hot tub a sauna and a Turkish bath. Free parking spaces are provided on site and free WiFi is available in the Tuscan-style rooms. : Nice view and location. Quite friendly staff outside of the manager who turned out to be disrespectul.
: When you pay 900 a night for the most expensive suite you don't except "nice enough", you legitimately expect more than what we got, in one word : UNDERWHELMING. Being topped with an awful customer service experience. Long story short : you will pay a suite almost 1000 for neat backgrounds and its view on the beautiful San Gimignano. And that is it. For the mid-range standards offered at the Mormoraia, it would be fair to pay 250-300 but not more. What to expect: * The 900 suite is rather small and once you get into the room, you step right into the bath next to a low quality sofa. The bed is wobly. * The sound insulation between rooms isn't right: it isn't acceptable to hear your next door neighbor in the bathroom * The breakfast selection, outside of a few homemade bakeries, is made out of supermarket products and neon orange juice. You get the drill. Customer Service Concern: * Beyond feeling ripped off by a very pricey mediocre experience, we felt insulted for the first time ever. We booked a suite with private hot bath. Upon arrival, we were informed that it wasn't a hot bath, but a swimming pool and that the water was cold. They could offer service to open the pool but they didn't recommend because it was cold. The following day, we discovered the hot bath was, in fact, operational. Upon addressing this with the hotel manager, we were met with an unprofessional response. The manager dismissed our concerns, implied distrust in our account of events, and inappropriately threatened to involve the police due to our presence at the reception discussing our experience. In light of these experiences, we advise potential guests to reconsider booking a stay at this hotel. For example : for a far less expensive price tag, we had an unforgettable experience at the Relais & Chateaux at Il Borro. This feedback is honest yet respectful, and it clearly outlines our experiences and concerns.
