  : This historic property is located in the beautiful Chianti countryside south of Florence and surrounded by beautiful vineyards and gorgeous views. The staff was very kind and helpful. Our room was spacious, up just one flight of old stone stairs, and the bed was very comfortable. I especially loved the big L-shaped bathroom and tub/shower. Beautiful infinity swimming pool, with a wet bar nearby overlooking the countryside. Breakfast was very good, with many options. We wanted peace and quiet and were well rewarded. Theres an excellent restaurant on the property, just a short walk away, and a number of great local restaurants as well that are 10-15 minutes drive away.
  : I wasnt thrilled with our room. I thought we were getting a room with a view, but there was no view at all. There was only a high clerestory window above the bed and another in the bathroom, so it was rather dark. We were told that only a few of the rooms have windows that look out on the vineyards or the garden, and they were taken. The coffee served at breakfast was not good. Neither was the cappuccino. Not strong enough. It seemed geared more to American coffee-drinkers taste. Weve gotten better coffee at Italian airport service bars. Also, they should be serving local Italian fruit at breakfast, not fruit such as kiwi or pineapple. Its summer in Italy. There are plenty of options for good fruit.
