  : The hotel is located on a busy street in the heart of Rome but our rooms faced onto an interior courtyard and there were no issues with noise during our stay at all. The rooms appear to have been renovated recently and were clean and quite spacious with modern amenities and comfortable beds. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and had no problems arranging an early check-in time and leaving our luggage in storage until our rooms were ready. Front desk service is not available 24 hours a day but they do provide a contact number for when the desk is closed in case you have any questions or problems.
  : There is an excellent restaurant for breakfast just around the corner from the Relais but it would have been nice to have had the option of a continental breakfast at the hotel, especially for those who have to catch early flights or cruises. There is a small sitting area on one of the floors that would work well for that purpose. Other than that, the biggest issue we had during our stay was the design of the hotel's elevator. Like most elevators in older buildings, it is very small but the real problem is its narrow, spring-loaded interior doors. They are very strong and make it awkward and difficult to get into and out of the elevator with luggage. I had to use my body to hold them open as I manoeuvred my suitcase in and out of the elevator and they snapped back very quickly and forcefully once they were let go. Not very safe, especially if you are travelling with small children or are an elderly person. There are of course stairs that can be used instead of the elevator but all of the hotel's rooms are on the 3rd and 4th floors of the building (up 6 to 8 flights of large stone stairs) and not everyone can easily manage carrying heavy luggage that far. For those reasons, we very strongly recommend that hotel management look into replacing those interior elevator doors with ones that are safer and less difficult to operate as soon as possible.
