  : Staff in reception were great, breakfast excellent, the setting was lovely. Our room was spacious with a lake view. Some nice touches around the pool with drinks and cold towels. Pool area had great lounges, with the lake a footstep away.
  : Pool bar staff could be better, maybe slightly under-staffed. Some upkeep needed to the decking around the pool. Quite expensive for the service provided.

  : The hotel is a high class hotel, with trained staff at the reception. Being at Lake Garda for sure is an asset. The premises are clean and whenever you have some wish or request, there are people that will pay attention.
  : 1. At arrival, we were told about an upgrade for the type of that we had booked - I perceived upgrade as a severe downgrade - the access to the garden (actually there was no garden, but a narrow dark pathway) was much less appealing, darker, narrower, less privacy, a much smaller lounge set up. The room was darker, worse arrangement of furniture and seating options, and the bed was right in the middle of the room - I disliked it very much - We didn't get it at all, why this was regraded an upgrade. There was no bathtub in the bath room, maybe the shower was better, but it didn't play any role for us, because of our pleasant anticipation of sharing a hot bath together after a 5 hours drive. For dinner we had reserved a specific nicely placed table, which was then given away to another couple. As a compensation we were offered 2 proseccos, but when the bill was due, we where asked 3 times if we had wine, and what about the proseccos. It was somehow tiring to repeatedly explain that these were compensations for the failure of the personell that had given away our reserved table. This was a weird experience. The fish that we had was dry, un-tasty - my strong suspicion was that is was precooked and just warmed up. The vegetables were so-so. And on leaving the restaurant the waiter asked us several times for our room number to allocate the bill. On the day of departure, we asked at the reception if we could stay for some more time at the hotel's pool. We were told that this would be ok until 1:00 pm (2 hours after checkout), but if we intend to stay longer an extra fee of 50 per person would be due. I don't know why other premium hotels didn't charge us anything for some hours of extra stay, but 100 for 1 or 2 additional hours just using a sun longer? Crazy! We booked an overnight charging for our Tesla-Car, but when leaving the next day we found out that the staff had forgotten to lock the car overnight. This seemed very unprofessional.

  : Rooms were nicely designed and fitted out, high quality and very modern. The bathrooms were also very nice. The restaurants were good; the service was also very good. Food may be a little fancy for some younger dinners. The pool was nice but a little tired looking in places. The service was very good. The overall nice facility we would happily stay there again, and I'm sure we will do it.
  : The decking around the pool is a little loose in places; also it has been painted/dyed dark, making it almost impossible to stand or walk on during a hot sunny day. The loose pieces, although often repaired, could lead to an accident, trip or fall. Long term, the pool surrounds will need replacing at some point; it's the one thing that lets the place down.

  : The location of the hotel right on Lake Garda could not be better. Great food especially in the Michelin star fish restaurant
  : The indoor spa facilities were undergoing maintenance and were unavailable. Noise at night from other rooms was annoying but was dealt with when complained.

  : The hotel was modern, and the pool and spa facilities were great. Breakfast options were exceptional.The staff at the pool were fantastic and super friendly, as were the majority of the restaurant staff we encountered during our trip.We were upgraded to a bigger suite during our stay, great bed and shower room.
  : For this review, we wanted to give a little context - we have travelled across the north of Italy for two weeks staying in similar priced / and starred properties. WeAll in all, we found this hotel wasnt good value for money. At every opportunity we felt like we were being fleeced for additional extras, for example it was 50 for a cabana by the pool, certain breakfasts eggs were charged at 10 +, Room service was an extra 20 on top of food.We chose to travel by train during the course of our trip, and a word of warning - it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a taxi (there is a huge shortage, with waits up to 2hrs+) from the Splendido to go anywhere (and they know it). To use their shuttle on the rare occasion it was available it is 25 per 10 minutes!!! On one occasion, we found ourselves stranded (2hr walk) and were unable to get back to the hotel after hiring a boat for the day - the staff didnt seem to care, and didnt make any effort to help us, this led having us asking locals in cars on the side of the road to ask for a kind stranger to take us home. In the end we had to pay 100 for someone to take us back to the hotel via boat (again a 10Minute journey) During our stay there were quite a few chippy comments about why we didnt have a car during our trip (which we felt were quite rude) This sadly meant that we couldnt explore the local towns because we were literally trapped in the hotel.We had one incident which left a sour taste in our mouths - we pre ordered (the day before) a picnic to be made for a boat trip we were going on. It was quite a ordeal, as we were asked to meet with the head waiter to discuss what we wanted, choose our wine from the wine list etc. Maybe we were wrong to assume, however, when staying in a 5* resort paying for our stay we expected a lot more than we got the next day.
