: Elegantly furnished caves, with an homely feeling. Very nice and helpful host. Fantastic view (from the front door, of course). Just under the Duomo - 5 mins easy climb. Bonus: literally next door the Dulcis in Fundo restaurant has a very good local specialities menu. It is owned and operated by Quarti S, with which it shares the beautiful views of the Sassi. Both highly recommended.

: The owner and his dog are nice. He was available for my late arrival, he took me to the bus stop, the hotel is in a prime location.I am a facilities manager in a school and did not find dust in my room. Normally I don't review hotels because they would fail my standards but he passed.It's a very stylish room. Good value for the location.

: Great location, professional friendly hospitality and good breakfast.
: Unfortunately if arriving by car (hired) then you do need to leave it in a car park a 20 minutes walk from location. But understandable as the hotel is in a reduced traffic zone closed to public vehicles and only public transport can use.

: Interesting experience to stay in the Sassi. Hotel in a lovely location & the man/owner? who greeted us was very helpful & gave us good information for getting there by using a car park & getting the shuttle bus into the Sassi. Matera is beautiful.
: Breakfast was dreadful. 1 croissant each, only instant coffee & tea made by boiling bottled water in the microwave.
