  : Good breakfast, good service, lovely breakfast room, it was the nicest part of staying there. The feeling of the history of the house, the wonderful old kitchen. The choice to make tea or coffee any time and the apple pie, all felt very welcoming and homey. The gardens were beautiful.
  : The Kings room bed cover was dirty. The towels were unacceptable, very old, and not soft, I never saw such awful towels, I do not understand why any host would give their guests old towels like that. I read on booking.com how some guests were given a talk about the house by the host, but when we arrived he just said he didn't feel like it and I was very disappointed in that. I understand however that it may have been too late in the day, or that he wasn't;t up to it, he seems to do all the work there and has no help. He ironed a lot in a room near our bedroom and it was a little weird to see him doing that.

  : The location is good for accessing Roundstone village.
  : When we arrived the host didn't remember that we had a booking. We were then informed that despite this being advertised as a bed and breakfast, the breakfast was not included (6 extra pp per day). I have checked the property listing and this isn't clear, so the host and Booking.com need to communicate to improve this. The host provided toast and jam and coffee in the kitchen which was helpful but the breakfast issue needs to be resolved. The property only takes payment in cash which isn't very practical. The room had a lot of mould on the walls, curtains and lampshades. There was a bee hive in the roof by one of the windows which we weren't warned about. It is an interesting house with a lot of history but this doesn't make up for the points made above.

  : amazing location, a house full of rich history, lanlord was amazing kind and lovely person!
  : that we were not told ahead of our stay that there was a huge bee have in the roof, we love bees but kids could hear the bees moving in the night inside the roof :)

  : The place is run by the 7th Duc de Stacpoole or Richard, as he introduced himself. Richard is an exceptionally nice and humorous gentleman who owns and maintains the listed house and beautiful garden.The quiet property is just a few minutes' walk from the centre, pubs and restaurants.Furnished with antiques belonging to his family and steeped in history and stories, it feels like a museum to touch and admire.The lovingly laid breakfast table leaves nothing to be desired. Worth mentioning are the homemade jams and cakes, the fresh fruit from the garden and the rich selection of cheese, sausage and fish.The freshly brewed coffee rounds off the start of the day.Thank you - we very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely place!

  : A beautiful old mansion set in large gardens and within walking distance to Roundstone. Richard is a superb host and ensures your every need is met. Parking is on site and the whole setting has tremendous ambience. Breakfast is excellent with lots of local elements directly from the garden or oven. The pricing is superb with the breakfast only 6 a head.
  : No TV but plenty to do.
