  : Firstly, the apartment is not as it is described on Booking.Com. There is no tea or coffee maker, kettle, bath or hairdryer as is listed. The host was very reluctant to let us stay, he seemed sceptical of the fact that we were young travellers. He walked in without knocking on at least one occasion. He supervised us very closely, appearing at least 4 times, to request that we shut doors and windows when we were merely transporting food and drinks from outside to inside or when we had opened the door to let smoke out of the kitchen.He requested 6 a day for aircon totalling 18, and we gave him 20 without getting any change. Although the listing describes the apartment as air conditioned, we were happy to pay. However, the host then proceeded to turn the air con off at the power switch multiple times, believing that we were not at home and therefore did not need the aircon. This was not the case , as at least 2 people were home all day, and 1 person was in bed with a high fever desperately needing the aircon. He turned the aircon off again overnight, judging that we had it on long enough. We had to ask multiple times to have the aircon, that we had paid for, switched back on!The host strongly requested that we turn the air con off whilst we were not in the apartment, which whilst understandable from a bill-paying perspective, is counter initiative as when returning from the 30 degree + Croatian heat we would like our accommodation to be cool. Additionally when paying for the aircon, we should be entitled to keep it on during the hours that we please. The aircon also is not really strong enough to reach into the bedrooms or living room, only heating up the hallway.The apartment also has extremely basis amenities, no salt, pepper, cooking oil etc. This made cooking meals very difficult. Additionally, only 1 out of 4 stove tops work and the shower has considerable mould.
