  : Unfortunately, we were only able to stay at the property for about 12 hours overnight. It is a very unique property with lots of little decor items to explore. We stayed in the top bedroom. We didn't realize it was two separate buildings. We arrived and left all our bags in the bathroom/kitchen building since the shower was there and then just brought a bag of stuff with us to the bedroom. It would have been very difficult to bring everything up as the stairs are very narrow. The property is large and has more than one sitting area to enjoy the views from both sides. Not really a place to side inside and enjoy the view since the windows are tiny. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was really nice with lots of water pressure. They provided water, juice, coffee, and tea plus some rusk and condiments.
  : It was very hard to get the key and check in to the property. It's managed by a travel agency or something and communication was not very good. Upon our arrival, we noticed a window had been left open so we were bit by mosquitos all night. There is a nearby church that chimes it's bells throughout the night (on the hour and half hour) plus there was a rooster and a dog that made a lot of noise. In the morning, my bag was infested with ants swarming a package of pasta I had in there (in the kitchen building). They were everywhere. It would have been helpful to be warned about the ant infestation to avoid leaving out any food they may get in to.

  : We loved our stay in the Sunset Windmill. The property is just as lovely as it looks in the pictures and located in a very convenient spot. It was a quick walk to Tripiti and to Plaka as well as the Catacombs and Roman Amphitheatre. The hosts were very helpful; we were having trouble booking a taxi (as we don't speak Greek and the person manning the phone couldn't understand us) and they arranged one for us.
  : The only downside is that staying in a heritage property can be a little impractical. The doors have huge, heavy old metal keys (they are seriously huge, the look like movie props!) which were annoying to carry around. One morning we were locking up the building, on our way to join a full-day boat tour and one of the big doors just wouldn't lock. We had to move all of our suitcases and valuables to the other building and leave the door unlocked all day. It was a bit stressful as we were in a rush. The hosts arranged someone to fix it, but I can't help thinking it might be better to modernise the door locks to make the doors more secure and easier to operate.

  : The buildings were rustic, but adorable. The feeling in the round windmill rooms with the wind blowing was great. The whole setup with garden, grill, many benches, lots of options for shade was great. The view was incredible. We were able to observe both sunset and sunrise in one of the best locations on the island.In general the location was great and super-convenient. A small town with a very nice tavern was just a couple of minutes walking distance and the island capital was 3 minutes drive away.The on-site staff was very nice and super-helpful. They were available for our needs any time.It was cleaned every second day and beach towels were provided in addition to the bathroom towels.
  : Issues: Air-conditioning (none), Payment, Ants - details below.There is no air conditioning, even though it is advertised via booking.com. The two rooms in the Windmill itself are ok without air-conditioning (but with open windows). The room in the separate building was boiling hot at night. Windows couldn't be opened because of mosquitoes.The payment wasn't done via booking.com or in cash. Instead, the credit card information was entered into a POS terminal in Athens. Obviously, booking.com doesn't hand over the CVV code required for such a transaction and I was pressured to provide it on the phone (alternative modes of payment like a proposed wire transfer were rejected by the host).There were ants in both buildings, but as long as no food or food-like substances are left outside, they are no trouble.The main bathroom (with a real shower) is in the small separate building - which we were warned about, but is inconvenient. Similarly the toilet is on the ground floor - we knew about it beforehand, but still inconvenient at night.
