  : The location was good, close to bus, supermarket and 10min from the beach. The swimming pool and the entire area outside with trees and pots is very nice
  : 1. Attempt to lie. Owner canceled my reservation and informed booking I did not stay with them when I checked out 1day earlier than I had booked and paid for because I mentioned I did not have a good stay. I didn't ask for a refund, I just mentioned the stay was not ok and the host said "oh well, next time" and by canceling reservation they thought they would prevent my bad review. I requested booking.com' s help in order to receive the link to leave a review 2. I booked a double room and was given a twin room. They said it was the only available early morning although they had confirmed for me that they can check me in early without mentioning they will change room type 3. The water from the toilet was running/dripping ongoing with disturbing sound. I asked to fix, they said they called someone to look at it but there s nothing wrong with it 4. I was awaken 3 days in the morning by the grandaughter who was screaming downstairs and by the moving of chairs, my room was on top of the reception /dining room and the back room where the kid stayed. One of the days the girl was screaming at 8 am and her mother screaming back even louder instead of calming her. 4. Extremely salty water at the sink. This is common on the island but the hotel I stayed in Fira had normal water so it also depends on the hotel and how they invest in facilities 5. Towels were thorn and bathroom was shabby 5. The hosts speak basic English and was difficult to explain on things like the running toilet water I booked due to the extremely high rating it had, which is not at all justified for what it offers. There was the accommodation across the street which was at same price and has rooms and facilities way better, I went and checked while there. Unfortunately they didn't have availability for the period I was there.

  : I had arranged via the hotel owner after booking with Booking.com if they could arrange a taxi to collect us from the airport to our destination. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered it was the hotel owner who collected us from the airport,which I thought was a lovely personal touch from the family who own Philoxenia. A trend which was very evident throughout our stay. A beautiful small family run hotel who got out of their way to make your stay is as pleasant and comfortable as possible. The hotel is located in a quiet area of Perissa and within a few minutes walking distance to the beach,bars and Tavernas and the heart of the resort centre . There's a small mini market adjacent to the hotel for all your daily needs and an absolutely wonderful bakery a two minute walk from the hotel ,where you are spoiled for choice . The pool and surrounding area is immaculate and very well kept and was cleaned every day.The area is surrounded by jasmine,bougainvillea and other shrubs and a few trees which make it an even more appealing area to chill out on one of the many sunbeds or the tables and chairs which surround the pool area.There is also a pool bar if you wish something to drink when you are relaxing.The owner also offer a continental style breakfast which is modestly priced.We had the breakfast on a few occasions and were perfectly happy with what we received . We stayed in room 13 which was a good size and had all the amenities that you would require including . The rooms are well kept and spotless.They were cleaned every day, with a towel change every other day and bedding changed every third day. Overall we had a lovely time at the Philoxenia , from a lovely warm, welcoming family who go the extra yard to make sure your time with them is enjoyable. I would certainly recommend the Philoxenia for anyone looking for a small family run hotel looking for an enjoyable and peaceful stay.
