  : Started out great. Friendly staff eager to please. Nice and peaceful. Untl the obnoxious owner decided to break his rules about having a dinner party for 10 people on the terrace which went on till after midnight. When I complained at about 11pm because I was up early. He couldn't careless and said it was not a party. Eventually someone offered to move me to a room overlooking the car park. But they showed me the room and went back to party, So I alone had to move all my things at 11pm to another room. This destroyed the whole 5 night stay. So check if you have a terrace window because they have no AC and you need the window open to vent the room. Also check what time the terrace resturant closes and ensure its not after midnight or you won't get any sleep.
  : The obnoxious owner who still believes he can have a dinner party on his outside terrace until after midnight. Without any consideration for his paying guests. From the earlier reviews about a caring, helpful owner. I think the chateau has new owners and old reviews should be removed. To reflect what is the current situation. From the owners attitude I will not stay there again

  : This small chateau has a non-fussy, relaxed, come-as-you-are vibe. We were welcomed warmly and made to feel immediately at home. The staff made it clear they were flexible to our needs and pace which was refreshing compared with other places we were staying at various chateaus and small hotels. If you are looking for a sophisticated, aristocratic, 'impressive' castle-like chateau, this will not likely meet your expectations, but if you are looking for a lovely small chateau, with a nice pool, relaxing atmosphere and really good food, this is your place!
  : I would have preferred a queen size bed, but we were very comfortable.

  : The cottage is really cute and comfortable for the most part. Kitchen is fully equipped.
  : Only comforters, no top sheets which isn't comfortable in warm weather. Kitchen could use some updating.

  : Nice location close to touristic sites.
  : Lack of air conditioning in hot weather. Could provide more information for English speaking guests about local restaurant and shop hours. We also didnt know how to join in the villages fete celebration. Apparently you need to buy a ticket from someone?!

  : A beautiful chateau in a lovely peaceful and relaxed setting. The chateau is charming and relaxed with the wonderful Emma who hosted us and couldn't have been more helpful. Her lovely smile and helpful manner made our stay a very happy and relaxing time indeed. Our room was beautiful and the bed super comfortable. The chateau and the pool area are really lovely and exceptionally clean - I hope we return someday in the future.
  : There was nothing that I didn't like but be aware there is no air conditioning in the rooms - totally understandable in such a building.

  : Breakfast OK but exactly the same for three days. Comfortable bed, nice pool ample parking and good wi fi. Location good for walking and nearby chateau.
  : All rather shabby. Needs some TLC. Saw the staff for only 10 minutes a day. Restaurant closed, we had eaten a really good meal here some time ago, nothing available this time.

  : This is a beautiful building & is in a really good location if you are driving either North or South through France - it's quiet & has all the facilities that are needed for a relaxing visit. Rebecca was very attentive & made us feel instantly at home & looked after us very well indeed, we will definitely stay at the Chateau de Villars if we are in the area again.
  : There was nothing we didn't like, Brantome is only a few kilometres from Villars & there are shops & restaurants there if required. The breakfasts at the Chateau de Villars were good & plentiful - if we had needed more, we are certain that it would have been provided.
