  : We have stayed before and chose it again because it is very well run, very comfortable and civilised and very cosy. We also rebooked it because the first time we stayed there we had dinner in their restaurant and it was fabulous. Breakfast at this hotel is a beautiful thing and I love the linens they use. There is also a really lovely shop with lots of local goodies in it.
  : Sadly, the restaurant was closed (was reopening the following day), so we missed out on that experience for the second time, however, we were redirected to another bistro in a nearby village, which the hotel very kindly booked for us and we were received very warmly at that bistro and fed a good hot meal.

  : Very friendly staff - even though there was clearly a lot happening with the village concert that weekend. Rooms to a very high standard - we were warned the concert might be noisy, but the double glazing worked a treat to keep the noise out. We were a party of three - and the third bed was a proper bed - not a temporary camp bed - so my daughter was happy. Bathroom facilities are great - interesting Italian-style shower and everything one would need and expect. We only ate breakfast - and it was good and we were able to ask for extras if we wanted.
  : The only, very minor, issue is no dedicated car park - we used street parking which was obviously affected by the concert. On any other weekend I suspect street parking would be straightforward.

  : Great old hotel with modern updates. Good Spar supermarket nearby. Restaurant was disappointing as the menu lacked beef or lamb. Other Australians staying said the same. Fancy food but disappointing. Great location.

  : on Saturday night until 0230 in the morning the bar opposite my room had very loud music and people outside drinking and talking loudly. I would object to their next licence application

  : Location was beautiful in a small french village, the room was a very nice size and although the home (hotel) is over 400 years old, the rooms, especially the bathroom are the perfect blend to make for a very comfortable stay. Great wifi, was able to give a video presentation to a university in USA while staying there. Took two lovely hikes from the hotel, trails were close and easy to get to.
  : Nothing that we didn't like however we did not anticipate that taxis would not be readily available at the San Sebastian airport. Also there are limited taxi services in Sare, the hotel was wonderful in assisting us with securing taxi service but if the hotel/area was busier, it would have been a challenge. Best bet would be to rent a car.
