  : We had a good stay, the room was very big and the decoration was nice. The blinds were difficult to stay open and it was a bit windy but apart from that everything went well. Breakfast was fine and the staff was very nice.

  : The smell of the old house No safe in the room Very steef steps We reserved a table in the restaurant of the hotel and when we came in the evening for dinner we were told that there is a big group of 40 people so we would dine in the side rooom-office which was turned into a kind of small dining room. We left to another restaurant ad had an excellent meal with an attentive waitress

  : Excellent staff. Super helpful with all my queries. Allowed me to store my heavy bike bag downstairs and deliver it in advance of my check-in.
  : Rooms are old and that makes modern features difficult e.g. my room had aircon, but the unit was so low it was below bed level. Luckily I just kept the windows open and the room was cool enough.

  : We booked this hotel for an overnight stay when on our way to Sancerre and then again on the return journey. The village is very pretty and quiet and the hotel is in a good location opposite a large car park. The proprietor and his wife were friendly and the only other member of staff (the polite gentleman who seemed to do everything around the place) was very helpful. Our room (for the first stay - on the journey down) was comfortable, spacious and had a lovely view as it was situated at the front of the hotel. This was desribed as the 'superior double' room. We were offered an omelette for breakfast.
  : Upon our arrival for the first visit, we were informed that the restaurant was closed for two weeks. This was most unsatisfactory as we had been on the road for hours (travelling from the UK) and there are no other places to eat in the village. The proprietor made an attempt to telephone the only other 'Italian' restaurant nearby - which was also closed. We feel we should have been informed about the restaurant closure when we booked the room as this was our main reason for choosing the hotel. There was no offer of any food whatsoever (not even cold food or a snack) and we were told we would have to 'take the car' and travel 10 miles into the next village if we were to eat at all that night. We were hot, tired and hungry and were hoping to sit down to a leisurely dinner in what is described and rated as a good restaurant. This was totally unacceptable - had we known the restaurant was going to be closed - we would have cancelled the reservation beforehand! On the return journey, we were obliged to stay overnight again (as we had already booked and this was now non refundable). The hotel proprietors did not show their faces at all. The lovely man, left in charge, booked us in and showed us to our room. This time, our allocated room was at the back of the hotel where some refurbishment had taken place. The room was described as a 'double' but it was very small. The toilet was in a converted cupboard and was so small, there was not enough room to sit down with the door closed (and we are not big people)! There was no bedside table on one side of the bed and the window overlooked the dreary rooftops; we could see straight into other guests' rooms at the back and they could see into ours. This was not a double room at all. It was a single room with a double bed! It was claustrophobic and dark. The restaurant was still closed. The bar was closed. We could not wait to get out of the place.

  : We arrived early and they gave us access to the room. The diner at the restaurant was nice and if you like running or walking the area is verry nice. Less if you have 2 little kids (2y and 4y). Lucky that there was a small playing area close to the hotel. The staff spoke English which is nice since our French is poor.
  : One of our kids took the key from the cupboard home, since it looked like a magic key. We emailed same day when we got home when we found it and send it by post back to the hotel. Never received a response on either the email or the post with a small letter. Not that bad but also not nice.
