  : We arrived to find no one in reception, the door locked and the bar and restaurant closed. We had deliberately booked somewhere with a restaurant as we were travelling. Eventually we managed to contact the owner/manager who came down and showed us to our room. We were given no help with finding somewhere to eat and had to fend for ourselves. When we returned we found the bathroom door had jammed closed with my wife's toiletries inside. We tried for some time to open the bathroom door ourselves, to no avail. We tried to contact the owner/manager as we had no bathroom to use and it was getting late - about 2am by this time. Eventually I did manage to get her to answer the door to the hotel and she very reluctantly came across to assess the situation. She had a look, came back with a few tools, and again failed to open the bathroom door. She shrugged her shoulders and opened the room next door, implying we could use the bathroom in there. It was at this point, at about 3am, that I phoned Booking.com and made a formal complaint. The member of staff was sympathetic and confirmed they would contact the owner/manager and ask her not to charge us. The following morning we did use the bathroom next door. My wife went to try and sort the situation out, but the owner/manger was very rude and unpleasant, shouting at her and waving her finger at her. I phoned Booking.com for further advice to be told the owner/manager was not co-operating and was insisting that we pay her. They (Booking .com) would refund us and try to get some recompense for the toiletries my wife had had to leave in the bathroom, worth about 50 including the toiletry bag. I reluctantly went to reception to pay, and the owner initially demanded we pay for two rooms because we had used the other bathroom!!! I had to get Booking.com to contact her again before she reluctantly gave me a bill for 62 euros for the one room.
