Disappointing

  : The gardens are well maintained, the pool area looks beautiful and the location is great for exploring - as it is very central. The cleaner and handyman were friendly.
  : We may have got a poor room, but the facilities are generally very tired and need a significant update. This includes everything - the wiring, plumbing, decoration, equipment and the bed and linen in the rooms. We consider ourselves as thoughtful, considerate and patient guests (and I have been in the hospitality industry for almost 40 years) but our experience was simply not good enough on many different levels. We raised some of the issues at the time but I am about to write an e-mail to the management team.

  : Casa Tomaren looks amazing. It is in a quiet location, surrounded by cacti and aloe vera. The pool area is wonderful and has plenty of space to relax. The rooms are nicely decorated, providing a zen like feeling.
  : Aside from it's beautiful exterior, our stay at Casa Tomaren was far from great. Most dissapointing was the kitchen, as it was poorly equipped with bad lighting and a lack of pots and pans that are bigger than what would fit on a camping stove. We had constant wifi issues, which couldn't be resolved with mobile data as there's no good reception. Finally, check-in could have been a lot smoother if we were given access to the gate beforehand. Arriving in front of a closed gate and having to figure out how to get in by calling the property is far from welcoming.

  : We enjoyed the fact that even though the property was fully booked, you rarely saw another person at the resort. Therefore, giving a vibe of peacefulness. We enjoyed the fact that the property was kept with a traditional, rustic design. We liked that the location was in the middle of the island, this meant that we could travel everywhere via car without it being too far.
  : We hated the fact that there wasn't a single staff member ever to be found for the entire trip. We were left waiting for over 20minutes in the scorching sun with baggage to be able to check in. Our flight was delayed for a short period of time (meaning we reached the hotel 1hr after we stated but still well within their check in times - check in starts at 1pm and we arrived at 2pm), we then made our way to reception for the door to be locked, we called the number stated on the door and the said they would be right out to assist us with check-in, 20minutes later... I had to call again and only 5-10mins after that did someone arrive. This lady did not apologise and instead made us feel as though it was our fault that our flight was delayed. She didn't answer the questions or conversation and instead just kept staring and it was rather creepy. Then when it came to check-out.... yet again, no one to be seen and the reception door was locked. I then found a side door to the reception and made my way inside where there was no one to be seen... I ended up leaving the room key on the desk and sending the hotel a picture of this via Whatsapp. The property was incredibly run down and in all honestly I am unsure if I would choose to stay here again as they didn't even serve any drinks or food, or give us any help or guidance on what was around the area etc. Also, the swimming pool area is only open from 10am to 6pm but not stated anywhere online and proved to be quite a disappointment as it's not like they need staff to be open as there is no lifeguard or bar/food etc.

  : Quiet, remote, unique decor, pool and staff were very friendly. Not commercial - rustic charm.
  : Sometimes felt like I was the only person there - no other guests or staff after about midday. But had emergency numbers etc. in case of emergency.

  : The location, the authenticity, the kindness of the staff.
  : The lack of cleanliness. The cleaning leady doesnt clean the floors, and there is a lot of dust and spiderwebs everywhere. She came once and just done our bed. We felt a little sad because we had the poorest room of the entire resort. (While there was no one else) We came during the low season, the lights were not even on for us.
